No Country for Old Men

As per usual, I am one of the last people on the planet to see this movie. It's the one Javier Bardem won the Oscar for, before following up with a romantic comedy. He must be hella versatile, since after seeing No Country for Old Men I can't imagine him as anything else but a cold blooded, strangely witty murderer.

I enjoyed this movie very much; it was extremely tense.

I am not sure why the Coens made the choice to not show Chigur kill Moss. I am told that it isn't "shown" in the book, so they were just keeping with that. At the same time, I feel kind of cheated as a viewer not seeing the exchange.

Frankly, I think Moss made some dumb choices. I would not have taken all the money, I would have taken a few handfuls and left the satchel. Not only would Chigur have been unlikely to go after him, but it would have been much more difficult for Moss to be found. When I found the transmitter, I would have gotten rid of it at once, or maybe run for it. Waiting around seems kind of foolhardy.

I also think Mrs Moss should have called the coin. She didn't have much to lose, after all.
And of course, Chigur is a total badass...

Tonight, H and I will watch Friday's Battlestar Galactica so we can find out who the final cylon is. I thought it was Gaeta until I watched the webisodes. Now I don't know who it is...I feel bad enough for Chief Tyrol, although he's been on my S list since that thing with Gaeta and the airlock 2 seasons ago. Anyway, we're watching tonight.
