What's going on with me?

I'm about 40 pages into Snuff. It is by far the crudest book I have ever read, and I've read Henry Miller. ;-] It's funny and all, I just don't know that it needs to be quite as grotesquely blue as it is. And I think we know that I'm not especially prudish.

Anthony Michael Hall is one of my new MySpace friends. I've always liked him, particularly for The Dead Zone series, which I feel really established him as an engaging male lead. When I was a teenager, I was much more into Judd Nelson, as far as Brat Packers go (I love those Cabin by the Lake movies, too). But work like Six Degrees of Separation and Pirates of Silicone Valley thrill me no end. And he was in an awesome episode of Tales from the Crypt, which I totally love anyway. AMH is 40 now and the perfect person to play Casey in a film version of my book. You know it's true. I just need to figure out how to use MySpace to make that happen. ;-] Michael, as his friends call him, also grew up to be super hot and not at all nerdy. So that's nice too.

I ordered myself a book that was recommended by author Scott Sigler. It's supposed to teach me how to market my book on the internet, so's I can sell more copies. I have to admit, I kind of thought the book would sell itself a bit more than it is. I guess that's difficult when they aren't carrying it in stores (yet). Anyway, Sigler's books are doing great guns, so I'll be following his advice.
Withersin is supposed to be reviewing my book soon, so that will be awesome. My Nightmare SINema skit is this weekend, where they gab about my book.

Still no word from Borders or Narnes and Boble about book signings. Borders told me I needed a BINC number, which I am trying to get. But you aren't supposed to call and check up on it, so I don't know how I'm supposed to know when I get mine. They also said they don't notify you when they give it out. So I have no clue how to proceed with these guys.

My book has eleven reviews on Amazon, most of which are well written and complimentary. I still need more though, so if you haven't left one, I urge you to do so.

It seems like, when I was a wee lad, every other film had Anthony Michael Hall in it....

Yeah, he was huge in the 80's. Then he did SNL, then a few more movies, then he took a break.

My personal favorites were "Weird Science" and "Vacation", although there is something to be said for "The Breakfast Club".

"I was in my office just now, and I heard a ruckus!"

"Could you describe the ruckus, sir?"

OR....a classic exchange from the same movie:

"So I'm a f**king idiot because I can't make a lamp?"

"No, you're a genius because you can't make a lamp."

Breakfast Club is surely a classic.

I wish I owned it. I do have Weird Science though...with a very young Bill Paxton as Chet.

Scott Sigler's review is ... interesting. His reanimated kitten line cracked me up.

His work is insane.

I guess it's all relative, huh? What kind of stuff does he write?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-07-10 05:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Scifi/Horror.

I have a link to his site on my links list.

Yeah, his stuff does look a little sick. Like King on acid or something from the descriptions.

*nods*

Yep, it's good stuff though.
