I need a genius grant...

I really hate how much of my time work takes up. How do you people DO this day in day out, week in week out, month...well, you get the point. I can't stand it, and I'm not even working full time. I only work 30 some odd hours a week, and it drives me mad. Couple that with not being particularly good at my job and you have a recipe for annoyance and extreme boredom. I wish there was another way to support myself besides working. Wouldn't THAT be nice?

How does one go about getting a wealthy benefactor anyway?

The carb cutting thing is going okay so far. I still hate it though. Then again, maybe I'm just in one of those moods where I hate everything. Ever have those? They suck.

The Book comes out on Friday, so all you peeps who preordered should be getting your book soon. If there's something special you want me to write in it, please reply to this post.

I missed my beloved Barack on Daily Show last night. Gonna catch the replay tonight. I was kind of bummed when I found out he was via sattelite, so I took my sleepy ass to bed. I bet he was great though.

And finally, Battlestar Galactica was amazing, as usual. All this infighting among the cylons is a sight to behold. I hope they do bring the Deanna's back. Lucy Lawless is such a babe.

New LOST this week. Even though I have to watch it alone, I can hardly wait.

'How do you people DO this day in day out, week in week out, month...'

If you figure it out let me know.

Will do.

Finding a job you enjoy helps a lot. I can't imaging doing something I didn't enjoy every day.

I imagine it would.

How'd you like this week's BSG?

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2008-04-22 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
It was very thrilling. That's one thing I like about that show, it never backs down. I liked seeing Zarek use Apollo like that. I will miss Kally though.. She was such a cutie pie. Has there ever been another show that spaced as many people as this one?

I must agree about Callie. She was a good one. But it made the prez's aide seem that much more unlikable. That was a huge shock, to me anyway...

tough call: would you rather your partner be cheating, or be a cylon?

I don't want anything in particular ~ just a nice little personal note from you would be groovy. =)

I'm easy to please.

How funny, I have something cool to tell you. Maybe I'll write it in your book!

There you go! =)

Well, for me, it's fairly simple to do the 40-per-week thing once you get into a groove. I happen to enjoy what I do, from meeting customers to designing projects, but then, it usually comes back to the money. Even better, mine is a represented position, so as a union member, I get time-and-a-half after 4 PM and on Saturday, and double time on weekends and holidays. Generally, the overtime comes with storm duty, which I would like to have a lot of this year. A good spring or summer storm and you can be out patrolling from 7 AM to 11 PM, but again, it's all about the paycheck.

I guess I've never gotten into that groove, since I'm 37 and work has almost always been a grueling chore. The jobs I liked never paid me enough to live on. the job I have now pays reasonably well, but I have to drag myself there every single day.

Maybe I just have a bad attitude.

Well, if I didn't have to, and money was not a consideration, I likely wouldn't - in that case, I would draw landscapes, write and philosophize all day....and go to Tigers games. That's pretty much my view on work. :-)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-04-23 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
That sounds nice.

A job you like does make some difference. I used to have a job that I hated so much that when I woke up in the morning I used to pray that the building had burned down.

But when I was a lifeguard on the beach, I was excited to go to work because I got paid to go to the beach. But I don't know if adults can have jobs that are that cool.

I liked working in professional theatre, but my paychecks used to bounce. I also liked working for Madstone Theatres but then the whole chain shut down. It sucked.

My job isn't that bad, I want to figure out a way to focus on what I like about it.
