Lookit! I got my jacket blurb!!!

This was written by the woman who edited the book. It's what people will read when they pick up the book to see if they want to buy it. I'm fairly stoked.

A Stabbing for Sadie

By:

Wednesday Lee Friday

BACK JACKET BLURB

A sometimes terrifying, often intriguing, and always thought provoking glimpse into the mind of Sadie, a victim of child abuse, drugs, and the vagaries of fate as she sinks into mental illness and battles her own special kind of demons. A Stabbing for Sadie is a wonderful journey through the twisted mind of a casualty of abuse, who lives with her own monsters, and fights to survive every day. It delves into notions and nightmares that haunt this strong and sometimes funny woman as she copes with false accusations and true horrors. This is a riveting, edge of your seat thriller as told from the other side. A Stabbing for Sadie will leave you breathless...wondering what you would do...and wondering what’s on the mind of the person standing next to you...

So take THAT, Guernica!

Very exciting! The blurb is worded very well, which is pretty amazing, as they seldom say very much of substance on the backs of so many other books.

I'm very happy for you!

Yeah, she did a nice job.

I'm stoked!

And thanks!

That's awesome! I hope I get to that point.

I hope so too!

You'll like #12 and, um, #2 was it? I forget. Go lookie!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Very nice!

I've long been a fan of baby Pac man as well, but those shark machines are awesome!!!

[identity profile] eroslane.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Most of those machines I hadn't seen --- certainly, I would have recalled those shark ones!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-12 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
There's a shark video game in the movie Jaws, but I'd never seen another one. Those are amazing.

Hey! That's pretty good, man!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 04:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, I thought so too.
It's kind of weird having somebody write about your work.

[identity profile] swayworn.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 02:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I like! That is exciting.

I want a Wednes-signed hardback.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 04:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry to disappoint, but the book is coming out as an Ebook and a trade paperback. No plans for a hardcover yet.

But I will surely sign you a paperback!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, it's pretty neat!

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 04:46 pm (UTC)(link)
100% made of win! :)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks man, I'm pretty excited.

[identity profile] lickingtoad.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Does it also have a picture of you in a smoking jacket with a cat (or two) in your lap? (Ha!)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! Actually, Clarence will be on the cover of my next book, The Cat's Apprentice.

So, when do the paperbacks come out? And how do I get one (with your signature of course)? - Fox

By the way, in one of your rants a while back, you were saying how much you didn't like "The Cat's Apprentice" anymore. Just thought I'd let you know that I liked it very much. It was the first book I've read in a while and prompted me to read several more throughout the year (the latest being "Holidays on Ice" by David Sedaris which is quite a hoot)!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-11 07:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks for the kind words about Cat's Apprentice. I still dont' feel it's my best work, but we'll see what the readers think in September!

DAvid Sedaris cracks me up. I think Naked is my fave.

My first book comes out in April, and you'll be able to buy it on Amazon, or from my publishing house directly.

Re: Off topic...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-12 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks man.
We could use a good Romero zombie movie right about now.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-12 03:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Neat, eh?

[identity profile] hellamama.livejournal.com 2008-01-12 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I would TOTALLY buy that book based on the blurb, even if I didn't know you.
So excited!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-12 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Sweet!

That's totally what I wanted to hear.

[identity profile] diachrony.livejournal.com 2008-01-13 07:44 am (UTC)(link)
Awesome! Definitely a tempting blurb even if I wasn't already gonna buy it!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-13 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
hee hee hee

Thanks!

[identity profile] spun-lepton.livejournal.com 2008-01-14 07:58 am (UTC)(link)
Erm, has your book been released? If not, when? If so, where do I find a copy? The blurb is awesome, by the way.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2008-01-14 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Book comes out in April. You'll be able to buy it from my publisher, or Amazon, or B&N or Borders though you might have to special order it.

Thanks!
