I heart you anywhoo, Stephen Colbert

Happy Monday to everyone.

I missed the end of the Emmy's last night so I could get to sleep on time. I stayed up just long enough to see Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert do the funny. I can't beleive Colbert lost all those awards to Tony Bennet. First Manilow, now this. Anyway, didn't see if Sopranos won best drama. Did it? I was also happy to see Terry O'Quinn win for LOST--although I didn't guess that he'd wear a pink shirt with a glittery tie. Yikes!

My cabs have been making me late to work lately. I've started making time calls the night before and hopefully that will help. It's so annoying, I really wish I could just buy a car and be done with it. Stupid fears and head trauma keep me from driving. Fie!

So I'm off to work 9-5:30 just late enough so that I won't be able to bum a ride home since most people leave at 5pm. I'm having microwave soup for lunch, I'm growing rather fond of them for their taste and convenience. Italian Wedding soup being my fave. Mmmmm...meatballs.

It made me happy to see them together again. I miss it when they both worked on the Daily Show. Colbert is great for being a loud idiot and Stewart is wonderful as his straight man. They are as good as Abbot and Costello or Martin/Lewis ever were I think.

I knew America Ferrera was going to win because the last time I flew one of the flight attendents was dressed just like her.. Glasses and Braces and the whole deal.

I must agree, Stewart and Colbert are a great comedic duo.

I didn't figure the Ugly Betty girl would win, shows what I know. ;-/

That Italian Wedding soup is delicious -- I could drink it by the gallon. (... and I do!)

I really should learn how to make it.

Oh, man. I so wish I could love Italian Wedding soup out of a can. But I have an Italian grandmother and omg. Heaven. With big ol' chunky noodles instead of those little bits and homemade meatballs and oh, man, I have to wait until Christmas. wibble. So yes, learn to make it yourself and it will be 20,000 times better, as I find any homemade version to be. But that canned soup is still pretty darn good.

Also, I am so, so pumped for the Colbert Report tonight in revenge on the Emmys. It's not going to be pretty for our poor little Stephen.

You wouldn't have a recipe would you?

And yeah, Stephen is gonna be great!!
Maybe he'll have Tony Bennet on this week.

I think it's one of those recipe-less things. I know that my favorite part of it is using very large chunks of noodle dough instead of little noodles, maybe around marble sized, and a lot of spinach. It's very much like the wedding soup at Spaghetti Warehouse, actually (that's the only other stuff my dad and brother will eat), so if you could find a copycat recipe for that, you'd be good to go. They use thin noodle things, though. ;) Sorry I can't be much more help, but any homemade stuff is going to be better than in a can, naturally.

I was in the shower a few minutes ago and pretty much banged my brains out because I realized I forgot to watch Stewart and Colbert tonight. Looks like I'll be up until 2.

I went to bed early, so I missed it too.

I'm gonna look at Food Network for a recipe, I bet they will have one.
