Even after reminding myself, I slept through the eclipse. If anyone has a good piccie, please comment with it. NASA doesn't seem to have any pics up yet. Fie and fie again.
Of course, I've no business staying up late eclipse watching when I have to be to work at 9 in the freakin' morning. Work was fine. I screwed up an order, though I also finished a long tedious project for another department. So overall I'm calling that a win.
I was saddened to hear that Owen Wilson tried to commit suicide. The only thing worse, it seems, than being mentally ill is having your issues broadcast in the National Enquirer. Poor guy.
Of course it is much more sad to hear people blathering about how he "shouldn't be depressed" because he has money and fame and all that shit. It's a mood disorder, so the whole fucking point is that the emotions you feel don't hold up to logic. Like today, I was trying to eat some Sun Chips but I couldn't finish them because I somehow became convinced that there were scorpions in the bag. That makes no sense, and is just one of those crazy things I have to put up with from time to time. No big whoop.
But a suicide attempt? That's just awful. Depression actually has a mortality rate of 15%. *shudder* The only reason bi-polar disorder doesn't have that high a mortality rate is because some of it is offset by the homicide rate. Nice, eh?
EDIT: I did not miss the Eclipse. It's tonight.

This NASA article says that the eclipse is Tuesday Aug 28, at 3:37 am, which is tomorrow, silly! It's only Monday the 27!
You freaked me out though because I've been witing to sit up for it with my son since I read it in the paper last week. I would have been mad if it had already happened!
