Totally preferring the U.S. cover.

Also totally looking forward to it ... ::fingers twitch::

You know what I found out? In the UK they also have "adult" covers for each book. They look more like a John Grisham novel.

That's because the Brits are so very easily EMBARRASSED. They couldn't POSSIBLY be seen reading... CHILDREN'S books.

I'm wildly amused by the British kids cover because the characters are plainly modelled after their film counterparts - they're not good portraits per se, but they are ever so obvious none the less.

But more amusing still is the idea that the kids are swimming in filthy swag. In wealth uncountable and possibly very dangerous. Just like their esteemed author. :)

Yeah, the UK cover does look very much like the actors. The US covers keep pretty well to the original artwork, which is nice.

Those adult covers are to yawn. I know I'm terribly spoiled by having the U.S. covers. I just found out YESTERDAY that they didn't have the same covers in the U.K. I feel sorry for them ... ours are so much cooler! ::smugs::

Although if I had a choice of the U.K. covers only, I might pick the boring one. Their "kid's" cover is almost seizure-inducing. It just ain't right. (All, of course, JMHO.)

It kind of reminds me of UK candy, so bright and sweet that you think it might kill you.

Yeah, if I were in the UK, I'd probably buy the adult covers.

Have you seen the whole cover? The back part of the cover has He-who-must-not-be-named.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 03:33 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I haven't. I don't think Leaky Cauldron website had the backs.

UK cover: OMFG! They killed and ate Scrooge MacDuck, and they're running wild in his vault!

US cover: Harry appears to be practicing his 'Doctor Doom' posture. Curse you, Richa -- er, Voldemort!

LOL

I was thinking of the Addams Family vault, but then, when am I not?

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Looks to me like the UK cover has them coming through a Stargate with all kinds of loot!

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2007-03-29 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, for once I like the US art better than the UK art. The UK art looks like there is an orgy about to start right after.

Who says there isn't?

That icon is so creepy.

Do you have an HP icon that doesn't look like a naked underage girl?

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2007-03-31 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Shit, sorry about that.

Jamie is so lucky that this is supposed to come out round his birthday!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-03-31 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Nice.

Every other movie comes out around my November birthday, but the books are always in the summertime.
