Things that make you say "WTF"

Is it just me or has the news just been batshit crazy lately?

As if the Diaper wearing astronaut stalker wasn't enough, my local news shares this jaunty little tale about a man accused of sledgehammering his mother to death. As big a fan of matricide as I am, the hands on mechanics of that creep me out no end. I mean, how much do you have to hate someone to bash them to death with a goddamn sledgehammer? If you're not emotionally damaged yet, I'll tell you that someone murdered a Detroit paperboy. A PAPERBOY! What the hell for? Can anyone explain this to me? I almost want to write a short story about it, but I can't think of one human reason why anyone anywhere would gun down a kid delivering newspapers. Humanity sucks sometimes.

Myself, I much prefer fictitious violence, like say, Grindhouse, which is going to kick the ass.

New LOST tomorrow, so that'll be good. It will make Group go on and on with glacier-like speed, but it will be good. LOST really needs to impress me right now, so let's hope it does. I'd hate to get into another Smallville or Dead Zone on USA kind of situation. Seriously...

You Are 100% Bipolar

You have some serious ups and downs, but you are still wicked awesome.
Consult a doctor to see if you may truly have bipolar disorder.

Well, I'll keep that firmly in mind.

I'm making bread to take on vacation, but I don't know if it will rise okay or not. It seemed really hot when I poured in the buttermilk. I hope I didn't hurt the yeast. I don't feel like starting over, and probably won't since I'm almost out of bread flour. I hope it turns out, I love this potato buttermilk bread. Mmmmm...

When I get back in town, I'll be ready to start podcasting my ass off. So do get in touch with me if you want to donate music or lend a voice (before [livejournal.com profile] swayworn takes all the good roles with his masterful readings).

Sad, but true:

You Are 16% Bipolar

You're so stable, people wonder if you're really human.

You totally have your emotions under control - and know how to deal with life's ups and downs.

(The answer is no, not really human. Nothing human has a belly button this deep...)

LOL

Let's get the fact that you're totally wicked awesome (duh) out of the way first ...
I can't think of one human reason why anyone anywhere would gun down a kid delivering newspapers.
Because he was there, and they felt like it?

Also, they were probably on the edge of psychopathic in the first place, and the paperboy committed the sin of:

~ Always hitting the window
~ Always hitting the door (and too early in the morning)
~ Always landing the paper inside a thorny rosebush
~ Regularly taking a leak on the rosebush and thinking he wouldn't get caught
~ Smoking during his route and flinging the stubs on the psychopath's lawn
~ I could go on ...

(I didn't read the article, just thought about what a "reason" for such a murder could possibly be. 'Cos a short story oughta be good.)

I guess there are plenty of reasons why a person might, momentarily want to. But for someone to do it in real life just sickens me.

And yeah, generally when I'm sickened by something it's usually time to write it all down.

Man, that diaper wearing astro babe needs a makeover, stat!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously.

Being a crazy stalker does not become her at all...

As opposed to those whippersnapper astronauts

[identity profile] felixbunay.livejournal.com 2007-02-07 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, not that I advocate either killing people or growing up, but 52 is technically a bit old to call him a 'paperboy.'

Fair enough.

I think I'm picturing someone with the intelligence of a 12 year old. But that's probably unfair to all the paperboys with PHd's. ;-]

WooooOHOooooOOOoo Happy Lost Day! Bastards put it on at 10pm, but i'm still giddy with gleeeeeee.

I'd love to snag a podcasting part.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 12:45 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm having a few folks over for LOST. I expect good things, or at least some Hurley. I've got a serious Hurley jones going on now.

I imagine there will be a part for you. What's been working right now is I send out the pdf's of everyone's part. You record yours as an mp3 (or something else and then convert it) and Email it to me. Then I send everything to Dan, who puts music behind it. Then it will go up and become a podcast.

Do you want (your character) to be nice or mean?

[identity profile] kissdbyagnome.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah I wasn't in love with last nights LOST. WTF, sigh.

Mean character for sure:)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2007-02-08 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought it was a big pile of crap. I'm so sick of the whole Jack Kate Sawyer kerfluffle. I want to see Locke, Desmond, Hurley, Rose & Bernard, and everyone I've spent 2 damn seasons getting to know.

Although I did enjoy seeing Zjledko Ivanek get hit by a bus. He's always such a jerk in things.

[identity profile] kissdbyagnome.livejournal.com 2007-02-09 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, it was pure LOST crapola last night. I didn't even have my usual Lost happy glow after it was all over. I miss all the other Losties tooOOooo...the cool ones at that!

I didn't know that was that guys name, but I have seen him play seedy characters in other things. I actually can't figure Juliet out, which I like.

Sledge Hammer & a Paper-boy

[identity profile] everythingtold.livejournal.com 2007-02-12 01:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Gee-Zus Kee-riist, double-you.tee-eff.

You probably already got 15 comments telling you the paper-boy wasn't really a kid but still - that doesn't change things too much. My guess? The paper-boy really pissed that person off and it's similar to walking into someone's work and going 'bang, bang, you pissed me off'. However, that's really no excuse either.

Since I'm not as fucked-up-in-the-head as I think I am most of the time, I can't really do a great job of empathizing with shooting someone or sledge-hammering my mom to death.

I mean, yeah, my mom can be a total bitch but DAY-um. I can't even LIFT a sledge-hammer, let alone hit her with it and I don't see doing that at all. Hell, I don't even see poisoning her to death because taking the life of someone just doesn't work for me. I can't imagine what would take a person to that point. Well, yes, I can. That's the scary part. :-( She actually seemed like a good lady, though.
