WGN was showing footage of a log burning in a fireplace for three hours last night.
I'm hoping they do it again tonight, and every night in perpetuity.

That probably won't happen though.

But it was really cool.

I don't know if it's the same station, but I read recently about a TV station that was broadcasting their yule log for the first time in High Definition this year!

Ah, the Yule Log, a staple of my childhood, on channel 11 out of NYC.... I remember the shock people had when they stopped airing it but it did come back in the 2000s.
