Watch it, Yarny!

Okay, I got my knitting boards and found all my yarn from last year and the year before. I have plenty of hooks, one straight board and three or four circular ones of varying sizes. My plan is to do scarves until I can't stands no more, then work up to something like socks or a hat.

How come people want to charge for patterns?
Don't they know I'm poor. I'm quickly learning though, that yarn work is not neccesarily for poor people. You can spend a shitload of money on yarn and patterns. For now though, I'm gonna stick to getting yarn at Meijer.

Now I'm off to figure out how to use these damn things.

Also, can anyone think of something men like that looks cool with embroidery?
I kick ass at embroidery.

you could make a cool patch, perhaps...

OOOh, that's totally true. It could iron on!

A patch was my first thought, too. But you know, patches that are iron-on are still intended to be sewn on as well. The iron-on stickiness is just to hold it in place while you stitch it on.

I have much experience with patches.

Does H ever wear those "workshirts?" ya know, the ones that look like plain button-down-I-work-at-a-garage shirts? they sell plan ol' Dickies ones at Meijer for not too much, in various colors, and they are impossible to destroy; they last forever and ever. And those look pretty cool with a patch. You could just make a big H.

Just a thought.

And btw, I am convinced that I could teach you how to crochet.

We may have to make a date to do the crochet thing. I'm gonna see how things go with the knitting boards...if I can just make a scarf, there will be hope for me. ;-]

And yeah, I'm gonna go to Meijer and see what I might want to embroider up for H. He might like some kind of video game design or something (I'm so square!)
