Glorious Rain; how I love thee from inside my apartment.
I was all ready to go to Group despite all this rain, but my ride never arrived. So I stayed home. If I'd known she wasn't coming, I might well have taken the bus--or not, because of the aforementioned rain. At any rate, I also didn't want to go, so it's just as well I guess. But now I'm going to have to hear shit about it when I go to my regular therapy tomorrow, and again next week when I go for EMDR. That will surely be annoying.
I'm also seeing my Life Coach tomorrow, before therapy. I took the Meyer-Briggs last night, and she's going to hand score it. Honestly, I'm not sure how much actual insight I'll gain from it; but last time I felt that way I was pleasantly surprised. I'm also going to be working on a portfolio instead of just a stupid resume. Sound so professional: my portfolio!!
We've been scoring free veggies lately since it's that time of year. Monday we had "panini" (I use my George Foreman Grille like a sandwich press) and a giant zuchini stuffed with stuff I made from half toast and half biscuits (JoJo ate some of the toast because I let it cool on the counter). And yesterday I added a yellow squash to our veggie spaghetti. We're trying to eat less meat, which is much easier when people throw free veggies our way. I love fall...root veggies and apples. Yay! This year I'm going to try to hunt down some of those apples that taste like apple Jolly Ranchers--Maccoons maybe? I forget what they're called, but the Whole Foods people will know.
Annoyingly, it seems that the slags in Oakland County, MI are no better at addressing child abuse than they were when I was a kid. I'm sure that those people are grossly overworked, understaffed, underfunded etc. There has to be a better way to curtail domestic violence than to rely on a few people in a small agency. There should be neighborhood watch for that kind of thing. Domestic Violence is a far more pressing problem than robbery or even drugs, so why not get more people involved? Neighbors almost always know when shit like that is going on--even though they rarely if ever report it. I myself have been reticent to call the cops on people because I "wasn't sure" what was going on. Interestingly, we are more likely to break up a fistfight between two adults than to stop an adult from hitting a child. How much sense does THAT make? Maybe people actually beleive it when the abuser says it's "none of their business."
I really need to get off of this topic; it's angrying up my blood.
And now...I write. Or have leftover spaghetti, I haven't decided yet.
I need a new default userpic. Not sure what I want it to be.
Somebody should make me one, don't you think?
You guys are pretty creative, and Halloween is just around the corner.

So I was quite amazed to taste those at Whole Foods one day.
And of course, you should feel free to give us veggies whever you like. ;-] But I don't think we'll ever give up meat entirely.

Surely, you jest. That's right -- I called you 'Surely.' Wanna fight about it?

wooohooo i'm a cat!
Cats are curious and agile, as well as highly independent. They also have a distinct mischievous side and can get themselves into trouble. You embody these characteristics.

I do enjoy many of the squashes that come around this time of year. It's tricky getting H to eat them since he's like a 12 year old when it comes to vegetables. But he's getting a lot more daring about it.

speghetti squash is easy to get the kids to eat (ians a kid when it comes to food as well) because it looks almost like speghetti noodles. i put the sauce over it and it's lots of fun:) lol
