Dang.

They just called.

I did not get hired.

;-{

They're keeping my resume on file for blah blah blah.
So glad I could spend $20 on cabs to find out I suck.

I'm going to bed.

Sorry to hear that. I take it you'll be mailing them a dog turd or three in the future? :(

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I just wish places would be honest about what they're looking for. Don't say they're looking for production assistants when they really want salesmen who might potentially be producing spots. If they'd been honest, I wouldn't have wasted my money or time.

[identity profile] princezna.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Blah! Well- they're a bunch of idiots! If it makes you feel any better I have a friend who works in radio and she seems completely miserable.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 08:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm afraid that doesn't make me feel much better. I think I've decided to go ahead and drink that champagne anyway. As soon as i wake up from my nap.

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:08 pm (UTC)(link)
well that certainly didn't take long. I can't imagine them coming to that conclusion that fast if they didn't already know who they were going to hire. I'm terribly sorry, I know you wanted it. I wanted you to get it too.

Lastly, I don't see why complaning about the cost of the cab ride has anything to do with anything. If you got the job you'd say, "I'm sure glad I spent that money on the ride," and that makes no sense either. I know you have a lot on your mind, but that's a very small thing to think about in the grand scheme of things. I had a job interview with a production company in Washington D.C. and I bought a new suit, shoes, the wole 9 yards (and you know how much I enjoy dressing up). When I didn't even get a call back to tell me I didn't get the job, I never thought about the $500 I spent on the wardrobe to impress them. And if I did, I would think it was silly because it wouldn't have made a difference either way.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 09:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks.

All I can say is, when you are allotted $55 a week to live on, $20 is a lot to spend to wind up feeling like a bigger loser than before. I could've bought...anything with that $20.

Plus I feel that if they had been honest about what the job was and who they were looking for, I wouldn't have bothered. If they would have said that they wanted salespeople, I would have known not to apply (since salespeople always have to drive when they aren't cold calling). But instead they advertised for the part of the job you'd be doing 5% of the time. So I'm resentful and feel like I spent the money for no reason.

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2006-07-15 10:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I know, but and I understand your current income level. It just jumped out at me as realy insignificant in the grand scheme of things. I agree that they should describe the job correctly if they want people qualified for the job to do it.

I can't wait to hear from an inside source as to why they didn't hire you.

Good night!

P.S.: Do you know a "Happy Tree Friends" project? :)

No...

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-07-16 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
I'm gonna see if I can talk with Bob and telll him how cool it would be if they had your voice on staff. You've done news, right?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-07-16 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I told him that. I even know inews.
I really think he was looking for salespeople. The only thing i said I didn't want to do a lot of was cold calling.

The only other possibility is that my CD just sucked to high hell.

Sometimes life seems to be overflowing with fucktards, doesn't it.

Someone else on my f'list who's looking for a job actually spent hours working on a requested essay for a company she interviewed with ... after they had already decided to hire someone else and just didn't bother to call her up and inform her "Oh by the way, we don't need you to do that essay after all." She didn't find out till she turned it in.

WTF. >:[

Thank you.

It is quite frustrating, and well past the point where my inability to find employment begins to reflect badly on me as a person.
Why can't I just become a famous novelist and forget all this hourly crap?!? Ah well...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-07-16 05:57 am (UTC)(link)
That would never apply to me. They don't hire fat stewardesses.

But I have to wonder what the fuck out-of-work person has a few hundred dollars to burn on a job interview. That's fairly F'd up.

I did.
Sadly, I could not get the flash file to open. I'm gonna try it on H's computer when he wakes up.

I'll thank you in advance, since I'm sure it's something cool!

Now THERE'S an interviewing tip for next time, huh?!

Do you just scour the internets looking for things to make me laugh?

Nothing that Maciavellian, but I'm glad they are making you happy! And I was on-topic for once! Yes!

Lately I've been scouring the internet (I hear the internet is going to be teh wave of teh future!!1!) for nude photos of Rachel Ray. And then, like the little ADD kid we all are, I wind up looking at Frank & Ernest cartoons.

There is a lesson here somewhere, but I'm not sure what it is.

Dude Rachel Ray is so cute and wholesome...why would you want to see--

You know what?
I just answered my own question.

I just think I'd be like seeing your Mom naked when she was 20.

Man, Rachel looks like she would be fun in the sack!

Laughing, giggling, not afraid to have a good time, willing to try anything once....

....yeah.
