By the way...it was a complete lie about the oil.

As I've mentioned recently, I love The Young Ones. So it was especially fortuitous that when I came home from my meeting with my Fetching Employment Counselor I had a package waiting which held that very thing which I love. To be more precise, it was this tremendous box set. I had no idea that everything was remastered, but it must have been because it was brighter and clearer than I've ever seen it. I heard Motorhead was missing, but it isn't. And guess what? It's still just as hilarious as I remembered. Wheeeee!!

My meeting with my Fetching Employment Counselor went well. Even though they can't help me with anything related to grad school, they can still be helpful. And I'm getting a new job developer whom I will hopefully meet with in the next few weeks. So that will be good. I feel slightly less frustrated and more proactive now.

You know the thing [livejournal.com profile] sudrin posted about in this post? Well, thanks to some people who shall remain nameless, I have it hanging in my bathroom as we speak. My loo shall be a place of intense island related contemplation. Plus I took down that ratty magic eye poster of sharks I've had since I lived with my parents.

Since I'm on a news blackout until the world calms the fuck down, I'll reveal that this year, NaNoWriMo will have a club for...wait for it...screenplays. Yeah, that's right. And they're going to encourage Collaboration, which are two NaNo firsts as far as I know. so I'll have to noodle what I want to do with that, since I do have some fly screenplay ideas. The podcast novel idea is also catching on, so I need to bust a move on that. (I'm looking at you...[livejournal.com profile] madush69)

For those of you who haven't heard, Sopranos will not actually be coming back in January. Gandolfini's surgery is holding up filming so we'll all get to wait a little while more. I would be really bummed except that they're going to run Season 2 of ROME in January instead. So my goal is to have a DVDR by then so I can be sure to save it for my very own. I'm still behind with my recording, still missing last seasons Sopranos and Big Love, which was wonderful. Now I'm in a dilemma if I want a DVDR more than an ipod. I'm taking the bus all the time now and have taken to wearing headphones with nothing attached just to keep people from talking to me.

Wow.. That poster must look awesome printed out! I'll be excited to see it the next time I'm there

It does look awesome, in fact. It's pretty big too, and it's printed all nice and shiny. ;-}

I'd be careful of the poster in the bathroom. The ink may run with the moisture in there. I don't know for sure, but I do know that with our old printer if your hands were sweaty, you could smudge the ink.

H said it would be fine as long as it's totally dry. I defer to his judgement, but I'll also keep an eye on it.

I wanted to make sure it was somewhere people could see it without waking up H. :-}
