Wednes' Little Helper.

Had to get up after only 3 hours of sleep this morning, because today I was Wednes-of-the-Many-Appointments.

I saw two different docs, one who says I am fine and will almost certainly not need an operation. Still good news but at that hour of morning, I barely cared. Then saw the mental health doc who is giving me two different pill options for sleep. I get to pick the one I like best, which means that he trusts me around sleeping pills. So that is a good sign.
The first one is Rozerem which is suppoesdly the first ever sleeping pill that is not classified as a controlled substance. Usually at rehab type places, they give you other drugs (often anti psychotics) that have sleepiness as a side effect instead of actually giving you sleeping pills. Besides which, sleeping pills are pretty scary to me as I'm certain I could develop a problem in almost no time. I'm just like that. I like drugs, a LOT. The other pill I'll try if the first one doesn't work is more familiar. Seroquel is an anti psychotic that makes you tired as hell. In fact, that's pretty much all it does. The way it keeps you from being psychotic is to make you sleep through it. It harkens back to mental illness "cures" that were actually ways to make a person less dangerous to others (read: less trouble for staff) rather than actually treating the illness. So I'm a bit apprehensive about that one, not sure if I'll even take any.
After that, I had an exhausting session of EMDR in an attempt to stop having those terrible nightmares about my brother, Chad. (the one who is not Mark, for those of you not up to speed).

While I was coming home, I took a cab which means I don't get to pick the radio station. Apparently that Sean Hannity guy can't tell the difference between 9/11 and WWII. It was pretty funny. That guy is such an idiot. Somebody really should tell him that all brown people in the world do not hate America and are not specifically responsible for 9/11. He spoke as if disallowing torture of prisoners was the same as releasing them onto a playground. So Absurd. Do people actually think that "Iraq" attacked the US? Do they not understand that Iraqi's do not support Al Queda? Do they even care that Sayid is fucking HOT? Okay, that's O/T but still worth your consideration... ;-}

I think most offensive is the presumption that if you are against the war, then you do not "support the troops." Walt (my biological father) has a son in Iraq, which means in a technical sense, I have a brother there. But even if I didn't, I would still support the troops. This is not Vietnam, and nobody is gonna be spitting on these people when they get back. At least, I hope nobody is that crass or stupid or mean. Because if you spit on a returning soldier, you are not very nice.

While I'm vaguely on the topic, Why do YOU think we still haven't caught Osama Bin Laden?
