A meme, and such.

Before I begin with the meme I have planned, I feel compelled to mention that the master of action figures, Todd McFarlane is making LOST figures. The first give are Jack, Charlie, Hurley, Shannon and Kate. What's that, you say? No Sawyer? Well no, because nobody is gonna want Shannon dolls in six months, whereas Sawyer will be famous forever. Of course I will be getting the Hurley doll. Because duh, I heart Hurley.

The meme is that one where I have to say ten things that start with a letter, and why I like them.
And thanks to userinfosudrin it'll be that 17th letter of the alphabet: Q.

1. Quirrell: the professor who turns out to be the "bad guy" in the first Harry Potter book. He's not really bad, but he had Voldemort sharing his body so he got kind of a bum deal. Anyway, I saw the first movie before reading the books, so I was totally surprised, and my love of Harry Potter had begun.

2. Quisp: it's a cereal. It's old, and it was yummy.

3. Quiet: Something I wish my damn neighbors would be.

4. Questions: An expression of inquiry that invites or calls for a reply. Everyone should be Questioning. Question Authority, Question so-called Normal Types, Question everything you see and hear on TV. Questions are good. And there are no stupid ones, except yours...and yours.

5. Q: The Q are these people from Star Trek, mainly personified by John Delancie. They have total control over space, matter, and time. I wouldn't mind having that, but it would probably get boring after a bit.

6. Queen is Dead (the): This is the first album I ever heard by The Smiths. It's pretty good.

7. Quilting Bees: Sounds like a place you make quilts, but no. It's actually an old timey euphamism for lesbian sex.

8. Quentin Tarantino: We all know he's an ace filmmaker and producer. If you tell me you've never quoted a line from Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, or Resevoir Dogs, I'll tell you that you're a dirty, filthy liar. Besides, Quentin has a high level of integrity and that is something I say all too rarely about directors.

9. Q: The Character in the Chinese Novel, The True Story of Ah-Q. While I have not read the entire novel, I have read summarized versions. Q is a guy whose moral compass inspires him to claim moral victories even though he has a pretty rough time of it. It's a lesson in beleiving in the right even when it's hard, and in seeing the truth of a situation despite a bunch of crappy obstacles.

10. Quarter: Drug slang for one quarter of an ounce, or about 7 grams, which is a very reasonable and affordable quantity of marijuana to buy at one time. Even if you are a huge stoner, you should only need one of these per payday.

I saw on CNN last night that a guy had made an action figure doll of the teacher who sent a video of herself stripping to her 13 year old student that she had sex with. He had put it up on Ebay, but Ebay pulled it because her lawyers contacted them saying he was taking advantage of her celebrity status.

Sawyer got a raw deal, he is a major cast member and he should have gotten a doll (right along with Locke!)

Interesting, as Ebay doesn't bother pulling plenty of other items of spurious origins. If I had a dime for every bit of illegal JK Rowling merchadise on ebay, H and I could retire.

As for Sawyer, I think McFarlane is just making sure the second set it highly anticipated.

Don't forget the gadgetmaster from the James Bond Films. Q, as portrayed by Desmond Llewelyn.

That would be easy for me to forget, since I've never seen a bond film all the way through.

I did fail to mention my love of Quiche.

Don't forget Quickies.

I love that you used "Quisp" in your entry! =)

I only know so many Q words, and I've never been much of a Freddie Mercury fan.

In college, they asserted that it wasn't really a euphemism, that quitling bees were a big sapphotic scene (except the Amish, I suppose).

Kinda makes me wish I was more interested in quilts. ;-}
