I woke up from my usual post-grocery shopping nap and tried to go online to apply for some jobs. It's monday and all, which is new job-for-applying day (come to think of it, that needs a catchier title).

Anyway, I was totally thwarted (stymied, if you will) by my internet not working. After twenty minutes of powering up and powering down, and another hour on the phone with Comcast, we have guessed that the router is not working.

So I, my freinds, and bummed.
I hate having to share a computer with H almost as much as he hates sharing with me.

Plus my cats hate it when I'm shut away in the office.




In better news, I think this is the most hilarious icon I have ever made.
It's totally cracking me up.

You can determine if it's the router by unplugging the router from the cable modem, and plugging the airport directly into the modem. If your laptop works, then it's the router. If not, it's something else.

I think that's what we did...either that or I plugged the computer right into the modem, skipping the airport. Either way, everyone but me seems to have access *sigh*.

So I might need you to help me pick out a new router.

That reminds me. I've got some questions about mac hardware. We plan to, hopefully very soon, get back to being a 2 PC home. One of which will be a mac. Do you know if Macs and PCs can share routers easily. Is it a case where the Mac will work with the router better than PCs?(Hopefully) And what's an 'airport'? I had assumed that the Airport was the router. With PCs you would use a wireless router and not need an Airport.

Yes both platforms can easily use the same router/acces point/etc. An Airport, is a wireless access point. Apple just calls them "Airports." Slightly slower than connecting through a wired connection, but you don't have to run wires throughout the house.

We have new plans for up north. We plan to see DaVinci Code tomorrow sometime around 1pm. After the movie is over, we'll pickup Michelle and run.

Anyway, I'll try and be packed and ready by noon. I'm also bringing a few foodstuffs that need to stay cold, but I have some cold packs as well.
