The wide world of stuff I like:

By far the most exciting rumor to reach mine ears in the last little while is the one which suggests that Terry Gilliam wants to direct Half Blood Prince. And JK Rowling wants him to do it. Without going into lengthy and vivid detail, that would be nifty. It's gonna be hard to make HBP into an enjoyable film since the story is so damn tragic, but if anyone can do it, it's Mr Gilliam.

In Consumer Product Watch news, I tried Olay Daily Facials Self-Foaming Discs seeing as how my skin is beginning to show it's (or rather MY) age. Not that i mind looking my proper age, but I'm so very cute that I'd hate to lose my elasticity or my smooth, soft skin. These are pretty good. They make a whole huge bunch of lather, only time will tell if it lasts all the way to the bottom of the jar, but I bet it will. Cost? $6.49 for 30. I presume that I'll use them every other day, instead of every day. My skin felt great afterwards, and a light exfoliating was just what I needed. These get my reccomends, although I probably should have gotten the more moisturising ones. Myself, I have combination skin.

Every store in town is out of ant bait, anr traps, and ant spray.
Bastards!

So that's two people now that know Jack's father wants to forgive him. Blah freaking blah. I'm much more interested in who that chick was that Jack's Dad was harassing, because I do not know. And like all the rest of you, I don't really care that Ana Lucia was killed. Libby, OTOH, I predict will live. Hurley needs to figure out who she was and what the whole deal with that is.

I think The Others sent Michael back for the express purpose of killing Ana Lucia as payback for Goodwin. I think "Henry" was actually sent in for that purpose, and that his sibling is being held by The Others to make sure he does this. Locke may or may not be involved in that, I don't know. I also think that if Michael had to give up every other person on the island to The Others in order to get Walt back, he would do it. One of the complaints about Season One was how they went on and on and on and on about how Michael loves his son. Why? For what purpose? For this purpose. So he will be fine, and he either killed "Henry" or let him go. Either way, Locke is gonna be pissed.

I also suspect that The Island observes Camp Crystal Lakes rules for life and death. By this I mean that (if you're a chick) pre-marital whoopie will get you killed. So it's a good thing people haven't been screwing all over the place like the fanfic authors want. Maybe this has something to do with population control? Also, I want to see the black smokey thing (that still might be nanotechnology) by the season finale.

Why hasn't anyone gotten sick? What's up with that? Are they not Down with the Sickness?

I think I added everyone who invited me to their MySpace. If you requested me and I didn't add you, it's because I didn't receognize you by your uncongruous username/pic. So you know, make yourselves known.

And finally, why am I just finding out now that Simon Pegg is in MI:III?
I also saw him on Doctor Who a few weeks back. Anyway, we'll probably go on Monday unless the reviews are dreadful.

i laughed at the end lost hehe. i think i said a few dif times throughout the episode how much i hate ana lucia.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, but now I need to know why Michael would kill her. Actually, I just need to know if I'm right. ;-}

[identity profile] gifgal.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
i thought pretty much the same you did about walt...you could see it in his eyes.

i like him now, hahah! FINALLy i care about his storyline, yeah!!

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'm actually going to see MI:III. I never saw the first two, but the cast seems great! PSH is in it, and Mr. Pegg, who I'll always think of as Shaun.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
Never saw the first two?!?

Dude, even I've seen those and I almost never watch action movies. I'm in the huge minority in that I prefer 2. I loves me some Dougray Scott. Rawr!

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
How annoying is Tom Cruise in them?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:37 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, MI:2 was the movie where I realized he was attractive. it's directed by Jon Woo.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Looks like I'll be renting a couple movies soon. It's been years since I saw one of his movies. I saw some of "Eyes Wide Shut," but the last movie of his that I know I saw all the way through, was probably "Born on The Fourth of July."

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
What?!? For fucks sake go rent Collateral right away.
That thing was amazing!

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
*jotting on a post it.*

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
War of the Worlds is awesome. Totally awesome. Go and see it.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey Ryan,

I heard about the Star Wars DVD's this morning.
Do you need a towel?

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
nahhh, I keep some tissues in my desk for just such an occasion.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 05:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Now I know I'm gonna have to get a video editor, so I can make one that has the best parts of the un-altered, but still has the few enhancements I like. Then I'll burn the Dan Martin special edition.

[identity profile] pyrafire.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:41 am (UTC)(link)
Dougray Scott is one of the hottest "unknown" actors on the planet. I swoon.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, he needs a bustin' out role (not Moses in that horrible 10 Commandments remake) so he can go all Viggo Mortenson on us.

[identity profile] cmdavi-70.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 02:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never seen any of them either, and it would never have crossed my mind to do so. Then again, I never saw the TV series, so there's not much investment there.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Well of course YOU wouldn't have. ;-}

You aren't a huge action movie fan whose been working in movie theatres for years now, like Dan is. Plus, you don't watch mainstream movies like Dan does.

[identity profile] cmdavi-70.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 05:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I see your point. However, sometimes I think I'm too quick to dismiss some movies as mediocre blockbusters without giving them a chance, especially since when I do, I sometimes find guilty pleasures in them. It's just that my schedule doesn't seem to allow me to see all the most interesting movies I want to see, and everything else gets put on the backburner.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, not everyone can devote the kind of time I do to the movies. I'm not even sure I reccomend it, because I feel like I never have enough time to read. ;-}

[identity profile] pyrafire.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
I actually heard that Terry Gilliam was interested in directing the HP movies from the very beginning and he even took a meeting, but he speculated that it was just to pacify JKR... In other words, on previous HP projects, Gilliam and JKR have been interested, but the studio has basically been like, "Heh, heh... oh, you were serious?"

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
I do remember some vague Gilliam rumors popping up from time to time, but didn't know the specifics. At any rate, I'd love to see him to an HP movie. Although I'd be almost as happy with him appearing in one. Sad that only one Python alum has appeared. Ironically, more people who appeared on Young Ones have done Potter films than Python cast members.

They cancelled Lost here...it was in German anyway. The only way I can get it now is by downloads. Which take a LONG time. :/ The last episode I saw was when Michael talked to Walt on the computer...at least at the end where it went 'Dad?'.

I'm dying for the rest. Its so not fair not to have the series run anymore here.

Oh, and my sister..who IS in the US has never heard of LOST. That's just WRONG!

The good word is that Season Two will be released fairly soon after the finale ends, long before they premeire season three (which is unusual, in terms of release dates, usually the previous season is not released until the new season starts).

So you probably won't have long to wait.
This season has been really excellent.

I've been wanting Terry Gilliam to direct a Harry Potter movie since the beginning. He would do such a cool job.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-04 04:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Agreed.

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2006-05-05 12:34 am (UTC)(link)
Someone had spoiled the ending on the web, so I watched it knowing what happens, except I didn't know it was a DOUBLE whammy! Wow! Great stuff.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-05-05 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
There is a lot of speculation as to whether Libby will live. Somthing about a wine bottle breaking because she was supposed to be getting wine from Rose and Bernard. Anyway, I think she will live...at least long enough to rat Michael out.
