Inquiries Answered: (even though the people who asked me to do this didn't play)

Anne ([livejournal.com profile] shamrock_19_79) asked me the following:

(1) If you could change your name, would you do it and what to?

(2) If you had a magic remote control that could take you anywhere and back, where would you go and why?

(3) What do you like best about me?

(4) What do you hate most about me?

(5) What do you like best about yourself?

1. This is longer that you might imagine. My name at birth was "Wednesday Lee Sarzynski" which was changed promptly when my mom got a divorce because she was a cheating harlot. I was given her second husband's name of "gunder" which I got sort of got saddled with and couldn't shake off. I never legally changed it to "Friday" but I will as soon as I get married or have money, whichever comes first. It costs a fair amount of money do to a name change outside of a marriage. I also used the undercover name of "Lilith Ng" for a short time.

2. Well, I'd certainly pop in on friends a lot more. Sometimes I like feeling isolated here in the apartment, and sometimes I feel utterly trapped. Ultimately though, I've found that my own happiness has a lot more to do with me than with my surroundings. Hrm. That's pretty important. I hope I remember that later.

3. I love how honest and forthright you are; and I think many of your attitudes toward motherhood are right on. I really repsect how dedicated you are to not hitting your child. You are also really driven and focused, which I am still in complete awe of.

4. I don't hate anything at all about you. Not really a big hater, but even if I was, you don't really inspire hate in me. But since the things that annoy us in people are usually the slip side of the things we like, I'll say that sometimes I worry that Anthony walks all over you because you seem afraid to discipline him properly. But I say this never having a child, and my own experiences with discipline being fucked up to put it mildly. So do take that with a grain of salt.

5. Over the years I've gotten better at liking things about myself. I think I'm a pretty good writer, a good cook, I communicate well; and have cobbled together a pretty nice home life. I guess I'm most pleased to still be trying to make something of myself despite so many radical changes to every life plan I've come up with so far. I mean, when I got out of college I thought I would be an utter failure if I didn't have a husband and kids by the time I was 30. Well, I don't and I'm not. I'm writing more than I ever have and am healther than I've ever been, so I guess I have to feel pretty damn good about that.

Chris "[livejournal.com profile] lickingtoad" Christopholus asked:

1. Will you tell me what you think God/s(ess) is? I'd like your take, if that isn't too personal a thing.

2. Look back as long as it takes, and seize upon for me the happiest memory you have recently. First thing that comes to mind. Spill it?

3. Please write me a poem. Any kind at all.

4. What's your favorite color of all?

5. As above, what's the most delicious thing in the world to eat?

1. Ah, an excellent question. Myself, I do not worship anything or anyone. But I do revere various incarnations of Gods, entities, muses, mythological figures, etc because many of them have valuable things to teach us. These archetypes and histories are important to study as another method to gain cross cultural insight into the human condition. The spirituality of a society, like it's art, teaches you about the innermost workings of the thing itself (which I guess is why you posed the question in the first place). I find myself having conversations with these entities mostly as a way to pretend I'm not talking to myself. I gain perspective, and it gives me a reason to do my research.
Ultimately, the power for change, for happiness, and indeed for a good life is within me. And it is encumbent on me to find it. I beleive I can take solace in knowing that many people have walked a path similar to, or more difficult than mine and have emerged the better at the end. And when I stumble, I have these archetypes to draw strength from--without having to bend my knee to them.

2. I thought for a long time about this. It was my last birthday party in the old apartment, when I still worked at the Madstone, and everybody was there, and we took lots of pictures and I got my Queasy Bake oven. It used to be so awesome when everybody got together for the raucus fun. I miss those affairs a lot.

3. A haiku:

See the Laughing Man!
His tear profanes their guffaw
Jump with all your might!

4. Beleive it or not, this is another difficult issue for me. In the last few years, I've become very fond of the calming qualities of green. But green is my mom's favorite color, and well, I hate her. Moreover, I live in mortal fear of becoming her, so I didn't want to admit even this similarity. But I realized that I can love green and not let it overtake me. So to answer your question, the calm greens, or the neon green, depending on my mood.

5. Dude, I gotta go with a medium rare burger and fries. I know, that's so American but I love it.

Anyone Else?

Oh, and in Wednes news, (Wednews if you will) Group was a total mindfucker.
But at least it was productive.
