In Brief:
--Last nights LOST: I knew it...I fucking knew it all along...
--Last Nights South Park: Did not see that coming. Goddamn hilarious. Thought they'd take the high road.
--Hurt my leg doing yoga. Currently limping around like a gimp for the last 3 days.
--Why did I start my period today? Because I'm leaving for vacation tomorrow.
--Like Freedom? Go here!
--They are showing The Smiths on VH1 Classic right now. Nice.
--I'm applying to be the receptionist at a chiropractor today. Maybe they will have a spine-o-cylinder. ;-}
--I did not really forget the birthday of
spiralwitch. I just didn't remember it right away.
--If you missed Jonathan Kents timely and expected death on Smallville, you can see it again tonight.
.
--I really need to know if it's worse to be Beat Down or Beaten Up?!? (nobody answered me last time I aksed)

Don't know how to answer your question. They're both bad.

And yes, beatings are bad no matter the semantics. I just meant literarily.

To me, to get beat up or beaten up doesn't seem to suggest as much that one has lost a fight....I could get in a fight and win, but still be "beat up."
However, if one has been "beat down," it sounds like they got their ass kicked.

"Beat up" implies physically, which implies healing of a biological nature. Physical injuries are much easier to spot ant treat.

On the beat down vs. beaten up question...
Ten minutes later...
"Damn man, I really got beaten up by that fuckah, I'm gonna busta cap in his ass."
It's all in the context.

Re: vote
I can't decide if the phrase "Beat Down" will alienate older readers. Odd though, as I don't normally give a rats ass about such things.
