For once I'm NOT complaining.
Thanks to all of you for not spoiling B-star for me. Seriously, I didn't get spoiled and I'm glad.
Now I need an icon (preferably a gif) of The Cheif more than ever.
I guess I don't understand what everyone is so pissed about. I have heard that people are pissed that they jumped ahead one year. But if nothing really happened in that year, why show it? Why make it into some thing where they have to stretch out everything to figure out how to keep it interesting? Then it would just become a bunch of love triangles and petty shit and the show would go barrelling downhill.
Intead, they gave us as much info as we needed and didn't dick around with it.
Were they trying to tell us that when Six blew up the nuke on Cloud Nine that she was just doing it to signal the cylons? Gaius is pretty well fucked; not that he doesn't deserve it. I still think Rosalyn is honorable even though she did something illegal. As you may know, I don't neccesarily agree that everything illegal is immoral and vice versa.
Fave paraphrased line: "I'm not a cylon...what are you talking about? I'm not a cylon!!! Oh. Okay then."
It won't be absolute torture to wait until October.
In other news, the job listings for the week sucked supremely.
Isaac Hayes quit South Park because he is a Scientologist and was pissed that they made fun of his faith. Aparently, he feels faith is sacred and shouldn't be mocked. Good thing Scientology is the only religion they've ever mocked. Otherwise all the Christians, Jews, Mormons, Pagans, or Marklar will have to quit as well. (Thanks to
locakitty--WHOOPS! I mean,
parilous for this bit of news.)
Can I just say, my computer is awesome?
While I'm here, I'll mention that the Premeire of Sopranos was pretty exciting. I saw some things coming earlier than I would have liked, but it's shaping up to be a fine season. I was also pleasantly surprised by Big Love. But I have always had a weakness for Bill Paxton.
In edting news, I wanted to add some more immediacy and terror to my Signe kidnapping chapter. After discussing it with H, I've decided to give her an allergy of spider bites along with an understandable Arachnophobia. I'm also drastically changing chapter order since there are some problems with that. In it's current order, I'm asking the reader to make too many leaps too early on. I don't want them getting too settled into one storyline or it will feel less like an ensemble piece and more like a new story interrupting the established one. If that makes any sense.
I am up to date with EdMo and a bit behind with WriYe, which is to be expected. Rewriting is much harder than just writing. Plus, I can't really get into the whole "no quality standard" thing, particularly in a second draft.
And finally, I beleive this qualifies as a Whammy! What? Too soon? I used to really like Press Your Luck, until I saw that horrible documentary about the guy who figured out the "random" pattern of the blinking lights. He went on the show and played it like a video game and won a shitload of money. After he died, they totally blasted him in this E-network spectacle that was really mean even as it insulted my intelligence.

I do agree that it makes me worry (kinda like LOST) that the set up is so good I can't imagine where they're taking it. But I have faith, ultimately.
I'm just getting a little sick of Gaius fraking over humanity and getting away with it.
