Yes...of course...the Cylon!

Well, I just finished watching Fridays new ep of Battlestar Gallactica and I must say I was irked that they sort of jerked us around. They set us up for some huge conflict and then just deflated it like a balloon leading to a totally expected and anticlimactic ending for a very intriguing character. I would have enjoyed hating her for the whole rest of the season, and then some.

I've decided that I heart The Cheif. Such a strong and noble character. Not bad to look at either, and very, very good at his job...which is totally actractive and not nerdy if you have a manly job like say, a spaceship mechanic. In low budget porn, someone's always getting it on with a mechanic because they are so damn manly. And Cheif is also a gentleman, and broody. Chicks love a guy who's all the time brooding.

H and I ordered chinese from [livejournal.com profile] madush69's favorite Chinese place, King Shing. I daresay, they do good work. I got an almond chicken dinner special, which came with a ridiculously huge amount of chicken...like 3 servings worth. And enough crab rangoon to feed a family of 6. So we'll be eating those for a day or two. Plus they gave us a complimentary dozen of those puff pastries with custard in them and chocolate on top. It was quite fab, so there's about 8 of those hanging out in our fridge. Plenty of good snacking food for when I take writing breaks.

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, Gaius is totally insane. Seriously, that guy really needs a girlfriend who is not a toaster. Why doesn't anyone know he let the cylon out? Who else could it possibly have been? He's just out of his sexy mind with these antics, seriously. I've decided that Admiral Adama has to always be said in the same tone that Khan uses the first time he says Admeeral Kuuuurk because that is hilarious. See, I can be SciFi funny too!!

And in sad computr news, my list of ibook related issues grows slowly. My faulty E key is not snapping back like my sticky W and 2 keys. Now my power chord is not lighting up all the time when it's plugged in. Hopefully this job interview will go well and I'll be able to start saving for a new computer. Maybe someone out there who works for a college or something can help me get a good deal on it. ;-)

Alswo, H and I are thinking of getting a condo.

Oh dear, it looks like someone's been reading my screenplay. ;-}

Thanks!!

How will you post about tax woes without your W & 2 keys?

I don't have tax woes. I'm on disability, genius

I hadn't considered it in terms of disappointment, but I still don't think she was crazy or evil. All of the stories of her "Evil" came from just one source.. that one source that is NOW IN COMMAND OF PEGASUS. I think her tears at the end were a real indication as to her mental state. I have to agree about the Chief too, though my favorite character is still Tigh.

I'm with you on Tigh. If his wife would just die already!!! Then Tigh can get back on track with becomeing a decent human being again.

H has a lot more empathy for Tigh than I do. I tend to think of him as a p-whipped drunk with a giant chip on his shoulder. I mean, why would you ever love tigh when the Adamas are right there? I was freaking out last night when I thought Lee was gonna die.

Some people turn into diamonds when they are under pressure, some people crumble to dust. Tigh turns into a diamond until his wife shows up, then she shatters him.

I guess I hadn't thought of that fact...that all the evil stories came from the one guy. That could have been his plan all along to get command; which would make Starbucks words at her funeral much more poignant. I assumed she was lying when she told Starbuck she wanted to go to Caprica and save the civilians. She was really only a hardass about executing people who, to her mind, were defending a cylon. As H says, the Pegasus pretty much went Vietnam.

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, the thing that seems suspicious is that the deckhand who supposedly had his family murdered or at least threatened with violence didn't say ANYTHING about it once the Galatica showed up. So I could be wrong, but I remain suspicious of the Commander of Pegasus.

[identity profile] nate101000.livejournal.com 2006-01-17 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I thought that was odd also. But I attributed it to trauma/shock. It's easy to suppose that he thinks Galactica's crew won't have any more sympathy than the Pegasus' crew.

That guy seemed nervous as hell to me. There was the little scene where they asked him how a civilian came to such a pass...or whatever. And he was all edgy and laughing nervously because (I presumed) there were also Pegasus staff around.

It could certainly go either way. It was hard to read him after the mission.
