My wish:

I wish there was a drive-in theatre where I could see a double feature of Wolf Creek and Hostel, and probably eat some snicker's.
Wouldn't that be GREAT?

I'm really in the mood for some horrific, deplorable violence.
Mmmmm...movie violence.

Drive-ins were awesome, and my family went to them a LOT. I saw so many amazing movies at drive-ins: Alien, Fulci's Zombie, The Black Hole, Apocalypse Now (yeah, what kind of moron takes a six year old to THAT?!?), Friday the 13th, Animal House, The Fog, Sleeping Beauty, once we saw this crazy movie where Klaus Kinski took out some chicks eyes to give to his daughter or something. It was crazy. I really feel like going to the drive-in, but as far as I know there aren't any around here.

Of course, who knows how I'll feel after my EMDR tomorrow. Usually, I feel fucking exhausted.

do you know for sure theyre not playing @ the ford wyoming?
cause if they are, that sounds like FUN!!!
:D

I've never been there. But I should think they'd be closed this time of year. Hence the 70's "pollack" joke:

Q: How did the pollacks feeze to death @ the drive-in?

A: Waiting to see "Closed for the season".

*insert racially motivated laughter*

actually, they used to be/still are(?) open all yr round.
:)

That's pretty cool. I had no idea.
Thanks!

Haha.. i've actually been to that Drive in a few times! I saw "Running Scared" there years and years and years go. I'm amazed its still there.

I miss going to the drive-in too! I can remember one solitary swingset sitting just in front of the big screen. Craning my neck to watch the movie while I kicked my feet into the clouds...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Yup. Plus at the drive in it was much easier to sneak in snacks from home.

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Wolf Creek looks cool, but I honestly think that Hostel goes past my limit for horror.. that movie just looks like TOO much for me.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, you know...Tarrantino.

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
But he's just the producer I thought.. not the director.

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
correct, it's probably a foreign film that he liked and wanted to put in the states. He's been doing that for years.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
That is true. But I think his tastes always seem to come through, even in the Asian stuff.

[identity profile] fyreangel.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You know what would make that EVEN BETTER!?!?!?!??!?!
If it was in the middle of where I live and you live! Mwahaha.. and we could go together!

..it's still early. leave my feeble brain alone :P

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:13 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be pretty slick.

All the drive-ins by me were gone by the time I was of dating age; so I never got to go with my buddies, unless my mom took us.

There used to be a drive-in where Showcase is now. Towards the end the used to play porno movies. I remember my family driving home from visiting my Grandparents in Ohio, and trying really hard to see the movies when we were on the exit ramp from US23 to I-94 (while at the same time hoping that my parents wouldn't notice).

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 04:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, if you want, we could just rent some! LOL

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
You can't rent drive-ins, silly.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
No WAY! That is amazing. I can't imagine seeing porn on a drive-in screen. Wait, now I'm imagining it.

Ew.

There was a drive-in on the border of Maryland and Delaware that showed porn. Everything was really ... big.

[identity profile] euclideanspace.livejournal.com 2006-01-04 05:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw Wolf Creek early hours of this morning....disappointed really and daft bit at the end

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 12:23 am (UTC)(link)
I sort of figured it would be crappy and B-movieish. That's why I thought it'd be good as part of a double feature.

I know what you mean though...it doesn't cost anything extra to write a decent ending. Bad endings are why people denegrate the horror genre to begin with.

Your dead baby is in the mail.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-05 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
That is fucking sweet.

Thank you!

Although I pity anyone who just entered this conversation.
;-}

I actually like Wolf Creek ok.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2006-01-14 07:31 am (UTC)(link)
I've heard a few people say that. I'll totally see it, once it's on On Demand or something.
