Well, I'm off!!
As I mentioned earlier this week (so people who read, rather than skim will surely know about it), I am taking off for the weekend. I do enjoy, at times, the jobless freedom of just saying "Sure, I'll go" when invited on a mystery trip. I'm going to some cabin or something that N's parents own or some such. It'a about 2 hours away, and we may not have any way to watch movies. So I am bringing a notebook and maybe a regular readin' book as well. I thought about bringing my computer but I think i could stand to spend a few days away from it. I'll be back sometime on Sunday.
While I have never been what one might call "popular with the fellas", I have managed to attract the attention of some pretty remarkable people, some of whom are men. I have had pictures drawn of me by talented artists; had 2 songs written about me that I know about (real songs, not drunken fraternity chants); I've been changed slightly to be a novel character (unpublished); and I've been gunning to be a comic book character in Kid Ka-pow (not to be confused by the Christian organization of the same name) and other assorted Katie comics. It's a nice feeling to be reminded that people like me enough to base creative expression on me or to make something cool especially for me. With that in mind, I'm sure you can imagine my joy at scrolling down my Flist and seeing this amazing thing!!!
It is my relationships with other human beings that have made me what I am, for better or for worse. Curious really, when you take into account how much I loathe most people. It borders on miraculous how many amazing people I've been able to surround myself with. I marvel at it, frankly. And you know, this is as good a time as any to let you all know that The celebration of my 35th birthday will commence at my place on 19, November, 2005.
