Cautious Interlude 1 The first meeting of the minds..the cat minds I mean. JoJo is very interested in meeting Pentelope, and not so much vice versa. He is about 2/3 the size of Pente.

Cautious Interlude continued So if anyone has any tips on helping them get along. I'm trying to give them both plenty of attention, and not scolding Pentelope for hissing or growling. I'm thinking just time will help them figure it out.

Pentelope says: back the way you came!! Right now they are still a bit leary.

H was Max's favorite adversary. ;) I don't have him anymore--it's a very long story, Last I knew, he was living contentedly on a farm. Rumpus is much more squirrelly than Max ever was.

Best advice: Let 'em be.

They'll get used to each other. Might take a while, 'specially if either of the cats is older and crotchetier, but they'll get along after a while.

Or just learn to ignore each other. Cats don't generally hold grudges. They're stupid creatures. (I love 'em tho; got three myself.)

Yay kittie!! Most people who work with cats like at shelters and such recommend a very very slow introduction, with the first cat just smelling something the second cat's been sleeping on at first, then letting one hear the other through a door for a day, and so forth.

I locked my kids in the bathroom and let them sort it out. :) (Not to be mean, but because I had repair dudes coming in and out, didn't have much choice.)

I bought that particular book the week it came out. It's a wonderfully fun and informative read, although not quite all-purpose enough to be one's only guide to preparedness. I do love though, that when people think of zombies, they think of me.

I agree that a slow introduction is a better way to go. Unfortunately, I didn't have that option this time around. They are keeping to oppsite ends of the apartment for the time being, but there's no rush really. So long as they aren't fighting I'm cool with it.
