Items of Interest:

Here are some things I find interesting, maybe you will too:

Reece's "Creamy" Peanut Butter Cups taste exactly the same as regular cups.

Lays makes Curry Garlic flavored potato chips now. They are tasty, like all potato chips. But all in all I'd have to call them fairly unremarkable. I guess I'm more interested in the thought process behind such a product. Does the average dumbass american even know what curry tastes like?

Rob Zombie is so sexy. Just reminding you all.
He's on some show right now where some asshole is trying to climb out of a coffin buried in the ground with wet dirt on top. Yeah...good luck a-hole! Seriously, if he lives I'm declaring shenanegans.

I'm stoked for the movie Red Eye. Wes Craven is due for a hit, and Cillian Murphy is just delightful.

I thought our modem was broken. But it turns out H just plugged it into the outlet that goes to the light switch. Duh?!? But I sleuthed it out and have my delicious cable modem internet once again.

I put up the rest of my posters today. I forgot I even had that sweet poster of Micky and Mallory Knox. It's awesome!! Plus my old "Area 51" poster is back up. Wheee!

Went to the dollar store today to get some miscellaneous crap: Bubbles, chip clips, chocolate, crazy glue, candles and a pencil sharpener. Dollar stores, like Comedy Central, have improved greatly since my first encounters with them. I also went to the fabric store to get some new altar cloths. Now I have a nice white satin one. Turns out, one yard is the precise size I needed.

I guess I won't try the new Recee's cups then :( Do they have any crunchy kind? Peanut butter lovers and chocolate lovers were good but I liked the peanut butter ones better. I think they'd ruin it if they made it with jelly as well - for some reason, that came to my head. Maybe they did it already when I wasn't looking? I only had the inside-out ones once and I totally want them back.

The new Lays sound good, I kinda want to try them. I must be more international than I thought - I know what curry tastes like ;-)

Oops on the modem thing - I've done sillier things before :)

Dollar stores totally rock.

We were totally hoping the inside-out cups would stay forever. But no...not meant to be I guess. ;-}

I'm also a fan of the crunchy cups, but I haven't seen them availible in quite some time.

INSIDE OUT!?!? I want!! :)
We have (had?) white chocolate ones .. but they're kinda icky. ..and we've had the giant ones.. Which are .. just bigger. I believe we still have crunchy.. but I dunno!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 03:56 am (UTC)(link)
The "big" cups are a rip-off in my humble opinion. They cost as much as 2 regular cups but they are not twice as big. So it's a huge, chocolatey scam!!!

Yeah, the inside out ones are fabbo!

[identity profile] fyreangel.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 02:49 pm (UTC)(link)
I forgot you guys only have 2 cups in your packages.. We have 3 in ours. Wonder why that is.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
They do sell the 3-cup packages here, but you can only get them at the movies.

[identity profile] fyreangel.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
We have 4 packs at the movies! :)

But guess what?!!?!?

I found the inside out ones today!!!!!!!! I AM SO EXCITED!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Awesome!!

[identity profile] lostsatellite.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
mmmmm...Cillian Murphy...I might see Red Eye just for him...seeing him in Batman Begins got me all intrigued, and now I have to catch up on his other work...primarily Intermission and 28 Days Later...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, you know I'm a huge zombie fan so I saw 28 Days Later as soon as it hit US screens. Good stuff. Plus you get to see his, um...kick-stand.

[identity profile] lostsatellite.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
ohhh reaaallly...once I work through all the DVDs that I already have checked out from the library, I will definitely be checking that one out...thanks for giving me an added incentive :)

[identity profile] calpurnius.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Apart from his, um, kickstand, he looks totally different in 28 Days Later than he did in Batman Begins and appears to in the Red Eye trailer. He looks more polished now, somehow. But given BB and what may happen in RE, I wonder if he's going to give us the creepiness of a Crispin Glover without the scary creepiness?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-12 12:22 am (UTC)(link)
Let's just hope that unlike Crispin Glover, we don't have to listen to him sing. ;-)

i thought those curry chips were totally disappointing.
i was hoping for a nice spicy curry flavor & they were bland bland bland.
yuck.
not impressed.

*hug* btw.
:)

Around here, we call that sort of thing "fast food spicy" meanning that it's never spicy in the way someone who likes spicy things would like. The only exception being Wendy's spicy chicken sandwich, which has more actual heat than any other fast food spicy thing.

And thanks for the hugs. I can always use 'em.

[identity profile] lachupacabra.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
i know what you mean about fast food spicy!!
altho surprisingly the spicy mayo stuff BK's has for their chix sandwich is GREAT
& nicely hot & flavorful (not that kind of just heat with no taste). i especially like
dipping fries in it!
:D

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe they'll make it availible with thier new "chicken fries". H's fave greek restaurant around here has chicken fries, so he was delighted to learn BK was going to have them too.

BTW, were you thinking of coming to my housewarming at all? It's on Sunday, the 28th. I know Ann Arbor is kind of a haul, but you know, it would be cool if you were able to come.

[identity profile] lachupacabra.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 06:44 am (UTC)(link)
yeah absolutely!!
(depending on the mom situation: if shes ok enough to be left alone)

its actually not that bad of a drive since i figured out how to take that
other expressway (i forget which one it is: it hits 696 out near pontiac
& then goes straight to 94 near the belleville exit).
email me your addy & ill mapquest it!
:)

okie dokie

And feel free to bring a date or whatever. Just be aware that there will be various kinds of adult refreshments and such.

I caught the last half of a documentary on the Monkees last month on PBS. It felt like a guilty pleasure. :P

I must seek out the curry garlic chips! Maybe I can dip them in one of the five packages of curry my friend sent me. Okay, that sounds wrong.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Whoa, I didn't know PBS aired a doc on them. I should really seek that out.

[identity profile] spun-lepton.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Wes Craven is a hack! Hack hack hack! (*runs out of room*)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-08-11 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
As a young kid, I wanted to walk out of the first Nightmare on Elm Street. So I see where you're going with that.

However: LHotL, Serpent and the Rainbow, the Scream movies (yeah, I dig them) are some of my faves. Plus I don't mind telling you that People Under the Stairs scared the shit out of me. Even Cursed was not as bad as I thought it would be. So Craven could certainly bust out with something great.

I also must give him props for his involvement in Project Greenlight 3. It looks like the only P.G. movie that might actually make some money.
