Here's what I've decided, for now...
I've been thinking about this for awhile. I've come to the conclusion that Dumbledore cannot really be dead, because Rowling would not write it that way.
First of all, her fans are primarily children. Sending them the message that trusting someone you've known for years can get you murdered is...well, now that I think about it I guess it's honest. But it's horrible. And I honestly don't think she'd create someone like Albus just to have him go out like that.
He deserved to die at home. He deserved to see Voldemort defeated since he worked harder than anyone else and for much longer to see that right was done. Plus, you know...he should have lived long enough to get a girlfriend.
And while I'm here...any speculation on WTF is up with Regulus Black?
I assume comments will once again be spoilery.
On the off chance that anyone hasn't finished it YET.

In other news, on Animal Precinct they unveiled the undercover guy they've had in shadow for several seasons: Special Agent H. Turns out, he's a former NY cop and he's pretty cool.

That scene where he dies. He stands there for several minutes talking with Draco. He had plenty of opportunity to disarm Draco. It isn't a stretch to think that Dumbledore could easily have summoned his wand. And why wasn't his Phoenix there to help him? Dumbledore knew that Draco wasn't going to kill him, but he also knew that Snape had to kill him to satisfy the Vow. So Snape probably warned him that he had taken such a vow. Dumbledore would have taken precautions. And like I said before, Snape hung around to teach Harry another lesson, even if Harry doesn't recognize it.

I freely admit that I hate the very idea that Dumbledore could be murdered by Snape with all the history their is between them. I don't like the idea that Harry and Draco might be right and Hermione and Dumbledore might be wrong. But it just doesn't seem like it could work out that way in the end.
We don't really know anything about the potion in the cave or how it affected Albus. I'm not clear on how Regulus got the Horcrux without upsetting the scene.

Maybe Regulus poured the potion back in. As in he brought with him more of the same type of potion and replaced what he or his accomplice drank. I told K your theory that RAB refers to Regulus, and K suggested that it would be funny if Mundungus had swiped the necklace from Grimwold place. Wouldn't that be funny. Actually I'm hoping that the necklace was destroyed because it will be one less for Harry to do.
I really want to know what Dumbledore saw in his mind when he drank the potion.

in the fifth book, harry came up against a death eater and tried to use "avada kedavra" on her. she laughed and told him that you have to truly mean it deep down, REALLY want that person dead.
dumbledore has trusted snape for years and dumbledore is not a stupid man. maybe snape really is dumbledore's man too.
snape fulfilled his vow by speaking the words instead of draco. no one said he had to mean them. now he's back in good with voldemort and his folks, and dumbledore can be free to move around behind the scenes.
i refuse to believe that the great albus dumbledore was killed by some piddly little death eater. maybe i'm just being naive.

But was it Avada Kedavra, or was it Crucio? In either case, it's a valid theory.
I remember also that Rowling said book six is the first half of the resolution.
Because they've also said that no one has ever survived Avada Kedavra except Harry. But that was in the context of "if Voldemort wants you dead..."
I guess in the end I'm with the majority of people who say Dumbledore simply would not go out like that.
