Well hell, as long as I'm up:
1. Name a movie you saw recently and want to recommend to others:
For God's sake, if you haven't seen Batman Begins you must go now before you do another thing.
2. Name a movie you expected to dislike, but were surprised to find you actually liked:
Resident Evil. I am very fussy and picky about zombie movies...well, that and there are so many bad ones. But I found both RE movies to be not so sucky and highly watchable.
3. Name a movie you expected to like, but were surprised to find you actually did NOT like:
Like critic, S. Weinberg (I was SO sure I'd love Van Helsing. Hoo boy was THAT a shitty evening.) I expected to like Van Helsing and hated it immensly. I also was damn excited for Mummy Returns, in a summer blockbuster kind of way. I even bought a shirt with The Rock on it. And when I actually smelled what he was cooking, I was not amused, Gibroni!
4. Name an underappreciated and/or little-known movie that you'd like your friends list to watch:
Oh geez, there are a few: Passions of Darkly Noon, Ravenous, Maniac (hardcore horrorfans only please), Winged Migration and/or Microcosm. Yes, they are animal shows, now Watch!
5. Name a movie you consider highly overrated:
Gladiator, Gangs of New York are the first to leap to mind.
6. Name a movie that you know is crap but you enjoy anyway:
I love those Tartan films serial killer movies, plus Ever After with Drew Barrymore and Mrs. Winterbourne with Rikki Lake and Brendan Frasier. If THAT relationship works, there's hope for us all...
7. Name a movie that you dislike even though you recognize that it's well made/high quality:
Gee, nothing comes to mind. Gone With the Wind maybe.
8. Name a movie you used to like, but no longer do, for some reason:
Kingdom of the Spiders scared the hell out of me as a kid, so did that movie with the killer bees and the boy scouts on the bus.
9. Name a miscast character, and also which actor you think should have played that role instead:
Ooh, Well Keanu Reeves in Dracula was god-awful. Joaquin Phoenix maybe?
10. Name a movie that still scares you, no matter how many times you see it:
Dawn of the Dead--the real one, although I enjoy the remake as well.
11. Name a movie that still makes you cry, no matter how many times you see it:
Miracle on 34th Street. Stop laughing, you a-holes!
12. Name the movie that makes you laugh hardest and oftenest:
It used to be Zoolander, no question. But Anchorman is awfully funny too!
13. Name a movie that was much better than the book on which it's based:
I was just talking about this in another thread: Psycho, Jaws, Mystic River, The Godfather (and I suppose GF2 as they are from the same book)
14. Name a movie that's an insult to the book on which it's based:
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, even though i own it and watch it, so many missing scenes and plot points...far too drastic with the script cuts. But I'd also say that of Queen of the Damned, Stranger Beside Me, and the remake of Planet of the Apes.
--Now you!
And finally, here are some fun LOL's that you can use to spread the laughter all over LJ
