Crushes, Insomnia, Doctors and the Mob:

Went to a few different docs yesterday for this and that. Have I mentioned that I hate that crap? I hate the tedium of explaining the same old crap over and over, and the whole business of organizing rides and having to ask my good natured buddies for favors over and over again. I did see my MRS case worker breifly, he's so groovy. He's been reading my novel and finds me very talented. Sometimes people tell me that and I just want to punch them in the face; other times, I want to fly around like Rudolph does when that chick-reindeer tells him he's cute. This was the latter.

My apartment is a very comfortable temperature despite the fact that we are running only the fan and not the air conditioner. In fact, with that in mind, it is almost freakishly cool in here. But I'll take it. Plus they are showing Goodfellas on TV, which I do enjoy every now and again. Very good movie for seeing some of my favorite peeps from Sopranos away from HBO and Dick Wolf. Plus, Ray Liotta was very sexy at one time.

Speaking of sexy men, I was online stalking my old crush from college lately. Okay, I say "stalking" with an air of pure jokery. But I did have a mad crush on this cat in college and always harbored a secret fear that he would have a novel published before me and I'd be so jealous I couldn't even stand it. As it happens, he has published some stories in magazines (which is what I'd love to do if I had any talent for the short story) but no novels yet. He wrote an excellent novel called Infection years ago which I was sure would get picked up. But no. In some ways, it's much more frustrating to learn that people I consider much more talented than I are still unpublished. He still looks kind of crazy and sexy and stuff, so that's pretty cool. Do check out his pod cast novel if you so desire.

This morning I'm going to a short meet and greet interview at ImageMaster, which appears to be something like a glorified Kinko's. They told me not to dress up for the interview. I think the last time I didn't dress to impress for an interview was when I applied to supervise burger flippers in golden arches land. Let's hope this next prospect is much much less of a grand suck. Anyway, I'm doing that, coming home, and going to hell to bed, having been up all night working on my new chapter. My protagonist is accepting a very sudden marriage proposal because she is drunk. Haw Haw!

Anyone who dedicates themselves to writing deserves good sleep. Good luck on your interview!!

I hope you don't mind that I added you as a friend. Oh, and thanks for the info on Scott Sigler the stories he writes sound right up my alley.

I do not mind in the slightest. Feel free to check out my writing journal if you like.

Yeah, Siggy is a good guy to keep an eye on, as someday he will be terribly famous among sci-fi nerds and horror geeks alike.
