Par Tay and such

[Poll #505437]

While I'm here, have you seen this movie Irreversible by Gaspar Noe? If it's possible to love a film that you never want to see again, that's how I feel about this film. I advise you to excersize extreme caution with regard to this film. Do not watch it with your child, parent, prospective parent-in-law, boss, or anyone with an aversion to a 20 minute rape scene. It makes the Melfi attack in Sopranos look like an exchange of flowers and gifts.

In other news, I booked our movers today. Two men and a Truck is up to $95 an hour. I really hope it takes less than 3 hours like last time. We have a bit more stuff this time around, methinks.

"What do you love best about parties at Wednes's"

According to my answer to this, you and [livejournal.com profile] uterdic shouldn't be able to come. :o)

D'oh!

But if I don't come, there'll be no cooking. And if Ryan doesn't attend, I'll miss the delightful company of his rather fetching fiance.

What are you, The Fonz?

Irreversible was so difficult to watch, and not just because of the rape scene. In fact, the rest of the movie was almost harder, the camera was insane.

I must concur. The camera spinning all the time really adds to the confusion and the generally disturbing tone. The only time it seemed to stand still is during the most upsetting scenes.

*shudder*

It gave me nightmares.

There's really only about five things in my nightmare repertoire: Zombies, Sharks, my mom, Anthony Perkins, and Me being the murderer for some reason. Now this...

Plus, we watched the beginning again right when it ended. H and I are in agreement that the guy Pierre killed is NOT the guy from the subway. Did you have that impression as well?

[identity profile] lachupacabra.livejournal.com 2005-06-03 10:41 am (UTC)(link)
he is definitely not the right guy...
altho from what i remember, the right guy IS in the bar somewhere.
so pierre's life is wrecked over all that & its the wrong guy anyway.
makes it even worse.
:(

That movie sounds quite good.

It is, though I reccomend a rental rather than a purchase.

I was bothered by the rape scene in that movie where the flying nun kills that vampire guy from the lost boys. I don't think I should watch Irreversible.

Which guy from Lost Boys? There's like 7 Vampires in that movie...
