Serial Killer lit, Beltane, etc.
Well, I've pretty much resinged myself to the fact that we have to move. I'm bummed about it, but I suppose there's some good with all the bad. We're going to have to go to Apartment Search as soon as possible, but not this week since I have a 3 day long battery of tests this week. I'm not exactly into taking that much testing just to see what my interests are...I mean, I pretty much know already. Frankly, I'd rather stay home and work on my notes for my new novel.
Speaking of which, I'm loving my new novel ideas. This time around, I have two main characters instead of just one. And they are, of course, locked in bitter conflict but it's a conflict only one of them is aware of. Plus I have this whole theraintrophy storyline going on.
Have you read this book Cannibal Killers by Moira Martingale? It's not very good. I'm a big fan of true crime, of course, but the writing is clumsy and needlessly sensationalist. Plus, she refers to people like Sagawa and Gein as "evil" when in fact, they are just sad, crazy people. It just seems ridiculous and dismissive to label something as evil rather than trying to understand it. And propagating such a stance thru non-fiction is just plain dumb. Plus, she dumbs the subject matter down, using words like "werewolfery" instead of lycanthropy. So it's basically a book written for semi-literate teenagers who happen to have a penchant for almost-true crime.
I've put the book aside to check out The Last Victim by Jason Moss. That one is turning out much better so far.
Speaking of serial killers, I checked out Hillside Stranglers movie by Tartan films. They are the super team who gave us, Gacy, Ed Gein (the Steve Railsback version) and the brutal Ted Bundy movie. Meh, it was okay.
Anyway, I'm stoked to tape cartoons tonight. And tape them, I shall.
I might as well, since it's Beltane yet again and I have no plans.

I didn't care for Nightstalker much, but I liked the rest. Gacy was fun in an over-the-top way. But Gein is probably my fave.
