A few good things:

I am down 2 more pounds. Go me!!!

Went to my meeting with my very fetching Employment Counselor.
Did I mention that he is very fetching?
And he asked to read my novel. I didn't offer, he ASKED.

I'm having another kind of eveluation in a week or so.

I got my psyche evaluation back from that long test I took at the beginning of the month.
Apparently, I am only high average overall, not low genius as I had hoped.
I'm a rather poor speller but "superior" with wordsmithery.
They suggested a career in writing, teaching or public speaking.
Well, duh!

I'm going to make some money tonight.

I have two publishing queries going out today.

And now...I'm going to have a nap.

But first, in case you hadn't heard Email is apparently worse for you than pot. Fuck that, I'm not giving it up!!

Some things certainly are.

I can quit email anytime I want... No really!!

Watch, I'll turn it off... right after I check my messages one last time. Here, we'll start clean, tomorrow, I'll stop my email tomorrow... except for work email because that could get me into trouble... and the fact that my work email is tied into my personal email,,, so that won't work. I'll just stop on the weekends. Yeah, that's what I'll do. No email on the weekends. Except when I'm bored and need to... waitaminute, I don't need to check it. I'll only do it if I would like to check it.

whew, glad that's over with. Told you I didn't have a problem.

Mind catching me up a bit?

So you write to make your living?
You're addicted to pot and email?
You're dieting?

Feel free to tell me any crucial facts I should know about you. The pesky thing about adding a new friend is that it's like walking into someone's surprise party after having met the birthday girl only once ;)

I am an aspiring novelist who freelances here and there in writing and radio as I have no real job. I have recently admitted that my nearly 10 year marjuana habit is in fact, an addiction that involves some vicious circle thingy with my already prominent bi-polar. I am trying to have my first completed novel published while trying to write my second novel and finish one I started years ago.

I wouldn't say I'm actually addicted to Email but I do love my computer more than i should love any inanimate object that doesn't give me orgasms ;-)

I don't diet in that kind of self-denial, hating myself for eating a cookie way. But i am trying to adopt more sensible and healthy eating habits in an effort to lose wieght and feel better overall. I have already given up alcohol, most soda and caffeinne, and cigarettes.

I'm fat and proud, as they say. I'm still in therapy dealing with 20 years of various types of victimizations and abuse. So sobering up is difficult for me, as being high just plain feels better than not.

A very rough draft of the novel I'm currently trying to sell is posted in my journal throughout November of 2004. it's a pretty good read if you have the time.

I'm not sure I could give up alcohol and cigarettes. I'm not a huge drinker, I just enjoy the occassional party night with my friends. But the cigarettes...those and weed are my two biggest vices. I'm a habitual weed smoker and I don't see that changing any time soon. I enjoy it and I enjoy my brain more when high. I'm sure my reaction to weed stems from my past, but I'm not so sure I want to point a finger at it and try to discover which set of scars is the cause.

As a writer that's only managed to get 25 pages of my book done, over the last four years (go on, call me a slacker ;)), I look forward to reading your rough draft. I love reading and I'll find the time.

Thanks for the info...it helps to know you a bit better.

Like most creative stoner types, I love talking about myself.

Aren't I fascinating?!?

In all seriousness, it is only lately that I have developed any kind of sticktuitiveness with regard to writing. I'm not terribly motivated, nor am I large on completion. I find that reading the published but obviously sub-par work of others inspires me more than anything else. It's like when you watch a really bad movie and say "Damn, why aren't I writing screenplays? I could hit myself on the head and come up with something better than that!"

You'd be surprised by what I find fascinating ;P

People are a huge passion of mine.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't like most people, which is probably residual from a career in customer service.

I tend to be drawn only to people like me, who think roughly 85% of people they encounter are full of shit.

My ex-husband has a theory that each of us are born with only so much Customer Service...and when it's gone, it's gone. He couldn't wait to leave the horrors of retail. Now he's doing something he actually enjoys (http://www.highbias.com).

Sweet!

I never said ALL people are my passion ;P

Just the people that I connect with, who are a lot like me and think roughly 90% of people they encounter are full of shit :D
