Consumer Product Watch: Reece's BIG cups!

As many of you know, I like to try new candy bars when they come out. Reece's tends to be the leader in developing new and fabulous candy bars; so I trust them to provide me something delicious for my 69 cents. This is especially true once I remember that when I started buying candy bars as a kid, they only cost a quarter.

Currently, Reece's offers a BIG cup which is a chunky-sized version of the regular cup. Problem is, it's not actually twice as big, yet costs the same as the old pack of 2 cups. Rip off!!!

Besides, I don't need to tell all you breast-lovers out there that cups should come in twos.

So in short, Reece's finest innovation to date remains the Nutrageous.

Have you tried the "limited edition" chocolate lover, or peanut butter lovers reeses?

Is that the inside out kind? H loves those, I was marginally impressed. I had a "fudge" one the other day but the fudge flavor sort of overpowers the PB, which in a Reece cup will not stand, IMHO.

Sadly, I never find Reece's cups a good "Candy" deal. I mean I love the taste, but I feel overall the value is generally low compared to something like a snickers which seems to have more overall mileage, or even a 3 Musketeers bar, that even with all the "fluffiness" tends to leave me feeling satisfied.

Certainly, Reece cups are more for the sugar/pb craving than to stave off any actual hunger. But as an American, I was taught from an early age that eating is fun...and not just for nourishment anymore.

;-)

Well, its not that I don't ENJOY the Cups, its that I find myself feeling.. Well, unfulfilled and craving more after just one package. Which of course means I am going to want a second package, and eventually I just feel silly eating a whole six pack. ;-)

heh heh.

The movie sized ones are goodly sized, 3 slightly smaller cups seem like a better deal until I realize my movie date just spent $2.50 on them. Then I feel obligated to get the thimble of soda instead of a real one...

I actually snuck my own candy into a theater the other day. Of course, you can't really blame me too much, since they were Dark Chocolate M&Ms and they didn't have any at the concession stand. But after growing up with parents who never paid for Popcorn at the theater, I don't mind spending a lot of money on Candy and/or popcorn at the theater. I also enjoy running the AC with the Windows open.. Once a rebel, always a rebel

reece pb cups are excellent for low blood sugar. The chocolate will do a quick/temp raise until the pb can take over and hold the level for a little while. I am not a diabetic or anything, but every now and then I do have small fits where my blood sugar drops off.

The massive cups are fun the first few times, but I'll stick with the traditional ones tvym. They my fave.

Oh don't get me started on the CUPZ. If there were a guy who went around offering a lifetime supply of your favorite candy bar, here's how our conversation would go:

"OK, Mr. Weinberg, and what candy baREESE'S PEANUT BUTTER CUPS!!!!

I must agree, as does H. Although of the wafer vareity candy bars, I give mad props to Butterfinger Crisp.
