Robots, synopses and those we occasionally speak of...

Not a whole lot to report today. We went grocery shopping and I made falafel dinner for H and I and those crazy engaged kids. In case any of you's haven't heard...and I can't imagine how you haven't...Ryan and Katie (AKA [livejournal.com profile] uterdic and [livejournal.com profile] smarbaby to you) have finally gotten engaged. Took them long enough! So yeah, the two day anniversary of engagement is, of course, the falafel day so there ya go. We'll probably get them this thing once we can afford it, because it's nerdy and hilarious.

I'm sure I've spoken out before on the folly of making robots that can walk up stairs and think and whatnot. But even in my own town, they are simply not listening to me. Good heaven's people...am I the only one among you who has seen the fucking Terminator?!?

Still working on ther synopsis. Turns out, it is really, really difficult. I thought I had it pretty much done late last night, but no. I had done it entirely wrong and have to try again tonight after H goes to bed. That's the only time I get to myself around here is after everyone goes to bed. Anyway, synopses are hard.

Applied for two new jobs today and am applying in person at one tomorrow. I wonder if I interveiw better sober? Should be interesting to discover ;-)

We watched The Village again tonight. I love that movie for many reasons; although this time I noticed a lot more things that bothered me. Think I'll watch Unbreakable tomorrow. That's my fave Night movie. H bought me Shrek 2 and SAW, but I haven't watched SAW yet because H doesn't want to see it. Shrek 2 was much better and funnier than Shrek, although I will eventually need that on DVD as well. I gave my VHS copy to the shelter, as they probably need the laughs even more than I.

I'm probably going to stop using this icon because so many jackasses have stolen it.
I would hate to be mistaken for a jackass.

At least we're getting closer to that robot arm I need.

Obviously you haven't seen T2. It was the robot arm what caused all the trouble.

I was under the impression that it was the brainchip that caused the trouble.

Oh sure...that's what they'd LIKE you to think.

Damnit, I keep finding myself staring at your cat/bird avatar.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-04-19 07:29 am (UTC)(link)
Enjoy it while you can...for I shall not be using it for long.

Is the cat in your icon fantasizing about brains?

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2005-04-19 02:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Actually, it's the "Zombie Cat" thinking about brains. It's a companion piece to this one:

How fabulous! I like the zombie version.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-04-19 07:16 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I would think it is the companion peice to the Zombie Pentelope which does not appear in userpic form.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-04-19 07:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, it's a zombie kitty by the lovely and talented [livejournal.com profile] smarbaby.

Could you please read an Issac Asimov book about robots. Then you will understand why the Terminator won't happen.

I agree about Unbreakable. It's amazing. Naturally K hated it. Can I borrow your copy?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-04-19 07:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I only have it on VHS.

[identity profile] nate101000.livejournal.com 2005-04-19 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
How could anyone possibly mistake you for a jackass? They clearly haven't met me yet.

Good one!

that icon is hypnotizing me!

Yes, that's why it's been passed around so much.
