Saddest News EVER (so far this week)
Welp, I just found out that i will not, in fact, be able to buy a mac mini with my tax refund.
Why?
Well, they are garnishing my refund because I am behind on my student loans.
Why am I behind on my student loans?
Because no one will hire me.
I'm feeling very angry, sad, and discouraged right now.
All these self improvement steps are hard enough without getting repeatedly slapped down by "the man".
I think I need to find a wealthy benefactor who loves my work and wants to give me $700 for a computer.
If any of you know of any such benefactors around, be sure to hip me to them.
In other news, my buddy called to see if he should come over and get me high.
I said thanks, but no thanks--which is huge for me.
I also went for a walk for no reason, and another walk to get Subway Angus sub for dinner.
According to TV, eating Subway Subs makes the wieght fall right off ;-) so you know, try not to slip on it.

i have osx panther, office for mac, the
brand new adobe creative suite, norton
personal firewall, norton system works,
limewire, roxio toast, roxio popcorn &
some other fun programs. i wish i had
a good copy of final draft for you but i
dont. who knows tho? by the time you
come up with the $$, i might find one!

H says once we get all the specs (HD gigs, memory, how old it is, does it have firewire, etc) and it seems okay, he'll give me the money.

i am almost positive that it does NOT have
firewire tho. im pretty sure its a 1st gen G3
(the bondi imac). i could be wrong & it
might be a 2nd gen one & it might have the
firewire but im about 99.99% sure it doesnt.
if youre looking to hook up an ipod, thatll
kill it for you (from what i understand but
ive also read that you can strictly USB them
now...i have no idea as i dont have an ipod
& dont see geting one anytime in my future.)

I spent all last night learning what all the different specs are on a computer so I'd know what I need.
Turns out, even with a tiny hard drive I wouldn't nessesarily need a firewire. I can add more memory with the mezzanine card (a feature limited to the imac bondi, if I'm not mistaken) , and a second hard drive via USB. Since I have a cable modem, speed shouldn't be a problem. It would be nice to get the full 512mb of RAM though, and maybe an external DVDR kinda thing.

then one day, completely out of the blue, department of taxation sent her a check for like $9000, completely giving back all the money they had taken to pay her student loans. for what reason, i'm not exactly sure. i was under the impression from that incident that they weren't strictly permitted to garnish your income tax return for student loans. but whatever, i really have no idea about that.
maybe one day you'll surprisingly get a check giving you back whatever they took in the name of paying your student loans without your express consent, is what i'm saying.
