Is it stupid to be totally freaked out by strange online occurences?

I was just commenting, and used my "Halloween Icon". But instead of showing up as my real Halloween Icon, which is a lighting bolt thing of Michael Myers in front of a window...it was some kind of Harry Potter gif I've never seen before.

So I for one would like to know just what the sam hell fuck is going on. I mean, I use uterdic's computer, but he certainly would mess around with my LJ pics. Now I'm worried that I might have been Freinditto'd or something. I'm in a minor bit of a panic about it. Who is messing with my LJ stuff??? Show your damn, cowardly self?

As if that weren't bad enough, I've also inadvertantly committed the minor LJ faux pas of using a Harry Potter Icon in a Zombie community.

Oh, and it seems that my "cluster" (the inaptly named filetmignon) is once again...fucked.
Just in case my life were not enough of a ridiculous pun.

UPDATE: I deleted that silly gif and uploaded my Halloween Icon under another name.

Someone on my friends list complained about something similar some time last year. When she posted her userpic was a webcam pic of a guy she didn't even know, but when she went to her userpic adding/deleting page it showed just all her normal icons, the ones she's uploaded and not the weird webcam pic. She made a support request and it was some stupid LJ wonkiness. So, don't shoot anyone just yet, investigate first. ;-)

Oh, that happened to ff_eye_candy too. The default icon was some really bright pink car, pink letters that said "Queen Bri" and sparkles all over the place. It was scary.

I'm leaning toward blaming it on Filetmignon problems, which would be the source of mine as well. Most of the folks I know are in that cluster. It's a big freekin cluster!

I'm also a paid user and over the past week or so have found my journal style to be occasionally fubar. I went through the whole S2 Style thingy to fix it, but still the problems persist.

I think there's something much larger at work here. Must be...

lj has been having picture issues lately.
for 2 days, they flat out werent recognizing
the format that my pix host -weblogimages-
uses as their URLs. its fixed now but it looks
like sites such as photobucket & a couple-few
others might still be having some kind of
problems. this is just a guess tho.

Actually, the only place i store any pics is here at Lj with thier photohosting service for paid members. it's pretty good, but you can't keep stuff like colorbars there.
