Love Me, Love MacGuyver.

Just when you thought I could get no cooler, I snag a new mood theme that is cooler than the coolest thing you can think of.
And if you think it's stupid for a 34 year old woman to have the same mood theme as an 11 year old, well you can just keep that to yourself.

Although ever since I uploaded it, I've been unable to see the pics in my LJ photo hosting gallery. Anyone know what's up with that?

Between my smooth S2 format with custom colors, and now this swank mood theme, I daresay my journal looks pretty cool.
I thought about doing one of those journals that has a pic in the background, but that's kind of annoying, I decided.

I tried to phone my friend Grete tonight and her phone number is no good anymore. That was pretty crazy as well.
Her birthday was a few days ago and she never responded to the swank E card I sent. Hmph.
Anybody know where I can get ahold of Grete?

In televisual news, something odd happened tonight. I have been pretty outspoken against Mtv for at least 10 years now. Because if you're my age, you know that Mtv used to show all videos all the time. Slowly but surely they turned from a video music channel into a 24 hour commercial for how to be an idiot. So I pretty much never watch. But digital cable has this thing it does where it lists the wrong show, I think on purpose, in an attempt to trick you into turning on something you wouldn't watch normally. I was introduced to Invader Zim because I wanted to watch Tiny Toons and it wasn't on. Tonight, I wanted to take a break from editing and watch Beavis and Butthead and ended up getting sucked in to something called "Boiling Point" for almost an hour. It's like a mean spirited, 20-something version of Candid Camera with a ton more bleeped out swears. And a few weeks ago, H got me into watching Pimp My Ride, where they give eXtreme makeovers to shitty cars. Good stuff.

Anyway, enjoy the new visuals...

Amen! You're awesome. More Than Videos

The visuals rock, btw. I wish my journal could be as fancy-shmancy as yours.

I only have a paid membership because Lj friends bought them for me. It's so cool all the neat stuff you can do...and I don't even do a lot of it. When's the last time i posted a poll? I think to name my bong.

Anyway, thanks!

when i was a youngun, i watched mtv a lot. i loved music and i especially loved music videos. still do, actually. but the ones they played then, even the cheesiest shit, like Naked Eyes and Survivor... It was all a million times better than the garbage they shove down the kids' throats now. And that's just talkin' about the cut down music videos they show on there so scarcely, forget about all the tv shows. The majority of which are inane, but if you let yourself watch for even a few seconds, forget it! you're locked in, and you're taking that pimped ride down the mind-numbing road of watching MTV after the mid 90's. I remember when M2 first came along - it was like a breath of fresh air. Not only was it all videos, all the time... like the good old days! But it WAS like the good old days because they played videos from all over their vast library! Stuff you didn't even know they had videos FOR. But then they changed all that and M2 is essentially the same channel as regular emptyvee.

whatever. so now we have VH1 classic, which, if I wanted to pay for digital cable for one channel, (i definately don't) is great. They only show videos and they're from all over the place in the rock and roll timeline. No hot new top 40 here, and that sounds awesome to me. i only watch it at other people's houses, though.

anyway, methinks i'd rather be watching some movies. i've been fantasizing about the devil's rejects lately. can't wait for that one. :)

I know the feeling, both about Mtv and Devil's Rejects. The cast list for that thing is amazing!

How I love to ramble on

I am totally digging the Wallace Shawn icon. The Princess Bride is one of my all-time favorite "classic" movies. I <3 Cary Elwes in the role of Westley. No other actor could have been so deadpan AND hilarious at the same time. Except maybe Larry Drake, but I'm not seeing that happening, except maybe in some kind of TPB parody-thing where he could play the Wallace Shawn character, too. Or something.

Thanks, I was most pleased when I found that in some random icon stealing comm while I was looking for mood icons. I also got a fly gif of Sayid from LOST.

Hi,im a complete stranger..that is in love with your shaun of the dead icons. Know where I might find some?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-29 11:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Greetings Stranger! I made the full size one myself, feel free to use it if you like. The beatdown icon is from the now defunct Shawn Squad site which closed down after the American DVD release of the film.

I do find though that if you check out the various horror comm's (I belong to some good ones) and poke around.

I was reading your info page and you absolutely intrigue me and remind me of myself so much,it's scary!:)

Feel free to add me and/or check out my fiction.

If you check out my journal during November 2004, you will find my current project, a novella posted in 19 chapters. I'm doing a rewrite currently, but what is posted is a pretty good rough draft. Anyway, help youself! ;-)
