Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] fflo for hipping me to this:

Methinks my theremin is going to get a new outfit!

Click to see pic of my theremin currently.

Actually, my theremin has a girlfreind now (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] smarbaby); I should really take/post a pic of them.
They really are an adorable pair.

Also, I'm posting this quiz result because despite it's jab at Jacko, it is accurate with regards to myself.
I just can't imagine that MJ is doing what they say he is...

Back away slowly kiddies, this one's Deeply Disturbed

Hi There!

Your Theremin is enough a Star Wars geek to invest in a full suit of Darth Vader armor, and yet he STILL has a girlfriend?!?

Just ... wow!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Amazing how that works out sometimes, no?

Kind of reminds me of my roomate. He's the biggest nerd I know, yet his girlfriend is amazing and beautiful. It's quite something, actually.

I've heard some of the trascripts of the MJ trial, or the testimony of the kid, or psychiatric interviews with the kid, and though I didn't want to believe that MJ did it. I wanted to believe that he was just misunderstood, I now think that he probably did it.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I have heard no such testimony. But that kid has had a lot of time to have information fed to him by others.

Michael Jackson is a danger to society. I always hoped he was misunderstood, as R mentioned, but my gut says no.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't beleive it. I just don't.

Even if he is gay or whatever, that's not the same as being a pedophile. Plus, I doubt that he is that stupid, to think he could get away with molesting kids at his house.

[identity profile] madush69.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Sometimes intelligent people do awful things. He may not have even been aware of how wrong that shit is.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-20 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I know...it's just...it would be so sad if it turned out to be true. Not like that clinton bullshit, but really tragically sad. It would ruin Thriller for me, and that's just not right.

[identity profile] fflo.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I just looked up "theremin" and can't believe I didn't already know about 'em!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Theremins are awesome. And they were almost ruined for me, since the first guy i knew to ahve one turned out to be a faithless jackass. But they are great.

There is also a wonderful movie avail on DVD about the life of Lev Terman, who invented the theremin:

Way cool!

[identity profile] fflo.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 11:05 pm (UTC)(link)
The library has it on video but not DVD (my VCR died). But I'll see it some time.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-20 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn. It's on my long term buy list; so if I pick it up, I'll let you know.

OMG OMG OMG
You have a theremin!
I am jealous.

Re: (pseudohaiku)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-20 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Indeed. It's a pitch only which I built myself from a kit which H bought me from theremaniacs. It was only like, $80, plus you need something to build it is...some kind of container. Then you just need an amp and some cables, plus I have a wah pedal so it can do cool spaceship fx like in those old sci-fi movies from the 50's.

Good stuff.

Whoa, I think when we do eventually meet, our intense coolness will cause the new Ice Age. That or a spontaneous implosion of wit and mirth.

Gnarly!

all that and more, including but not limited to a sexplosion of sexcellence!

( i thought of that while i was driving down the street to get food the day after i actually got your comment in my e-mail. i still think it's funny. i also think it's ridiculous that i leave e-mails marked as new in my inbox for like four weeks thinking i'll get to them one day, hopefully before aol automatically deletes them.. )

Sexellence?!?

That's the most cromulent thing I've heard all day.

Ooh, theremins!

[personal profile] groovesinorbit 2005-01-20 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
R, my guy, wants to build one some day--a very sciencey-fiction one is his plan. Mr. Potato Head is very cool, too. Darth Tater is quite something.

ramble, ramble, ramble. : )

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2005-01-20 02:33 pm (UTC)(link)
As I mentioned above, there is an $80 kit you can purchase from www.theremaniacs.com that you can build yourself without having to solder anything.

R lives to solder, but that's pretty cool.
