It's like a talk show in there...

There's nothing like spending Christmas Eve at the shelter to make you feel better about your own life. That's for dang sure!

I thought it would be quiet, instead, I had to deal with 2 ambulances, the cops, and a minister calling me "cold hearted and vile" because I told him we couldn't accept someone who had been banned from the shelter the previous week for stabbing another client. One lady was having night terrors and another guy kept waking up yelling at someone in his head. Plus, it was stupid cold.
Actually, this is the first time I have not had to work on Christmas since 1998, when I worked at Whole Foods and they closed on Xmas. Since then I worked at either video stores or movie theatres, both of which stay open on Xmas. It seems that the average american family can't spend much time together without The Box to entertain them. Same at the shelter really, except they were watching more movies formerly of my own collection. Nice.

And of course, H said we'd hang out and open presents when I got home and he is fast asleep. He stays up all night playing video games and doesn't even try to be on the same schedule as me. When I change me schedule to match his, he randomly decides to stay up an extra 12 hours. Then when I complain, he tells me I have no right to be mad at him just because he's tired. Nevermind the fact that he wouldn't BE tired if he hadn't stayed up for 22 straight hours playing Final Fantasy online. It just makes me feel like he'd rather game than hang out with me, which combined with all of our other issues, makes me very sad.

Walt said he was going to let me know when he recieved the stuff I sent. He still hasn't. He must have received the stuff though, H's fam got thiers days ago.
It doesn't seem like he has any interest in really knowing me...especially now that he knows a few things about me.
It's not like I wanted a fairy tale dad or anything, I just thought it would be cool to have a family member who didn't think I was a complete loser.

Cops sound coldhearted - they have cells

Us boys and our video games. Nothing is quite like trying to squeeze EVERY OUNCE of conciousness you have into Grand Theft Auto or Final Fantasy before plopping into bed like a useless sack of water and organs. I'm the first to admit, something should be done!

And for the record, I've never met any "Losers" who /volunteer/ at Homeless Shelters. And anyone who thinks otherwise is a loser themselves.

Alright then.

that was sad. i'm sad now. stop making me sad! seriously, though, that *was* sad, and i wish i could do something to make your day a shade brighter. as unbelievably gay as this sounds (because boys aren't supposed to say nice things), you have my friendship and love, which doesn't necessarily make anything better, i'm sure, but you should know i care and wish for your happiness. because you awesome.

<3

Actually, it does make things better. Friendship and love is the most valuable thing in the world...really. More than movies even. So thanks, man.

I agree. You're an excellent person for volunteering like that. I talk about it all the time but never get off my ass. I think movies are the only things people should watch and evn then just a couple. Video games and TV are okay in very small doses but are basically robbers of life and time. They're vicious.

I hope you have a good whatever at ths seasonal time. 2005 will be better.

I sure hope so.

Maybe I'll turn to collecting posters of busty dames.
I hear there's a lot of fun in that.

Hey Wednes. I hope you feel better. Give me a call later.

family?

I want to be your sister. I've never had a sister. I don't think you're a loser at all. I think that's pretty awesome that you gave up your Christmas Eve to work in a shelter- that's love!

It's decided then, I hereby declare that Wednes and Marie are sisters!

Does that make Marie an honorary cousin as well then? Because, as you know, Weednes, you will always be my honorary cousin, cuz you truly Rock!!!

Are you sure that's a good idea?

I mean...we're not in Tennessee...it's unseemly to have a mad crush on a cousin here in Michigan.
