Dead Zone series...Seen it?

I have watched the Dead Zone series starring the favorite boy of the brat pack not related to Martin Sheen, Anthony Michael Hall. If you haven't been keeping up on his work as of late, he was in several movies, including Edward Scissorhands. As the mean boyfriend of Shoplifitng extraordinaire, Wynona Ryder, he was damn convincing. He also had the distinct honor of appearing in Vincents Price's last film. Nice. The series has only broadcast 2 episodes, but that is plenty for you to get the scoop.

The series if, of course, much like the book. Guy has great life ahead of him, terrible accident, everyone finally gives up hope, guy wakes up with psychic powers, FUBAR.

Anthony Michael Hall is (obviously) not Chris Walken (I call him chris because we're so close...I choreographed Weapon of Choice ;>)). Nor is he trying to be, he lends a fresh perspective to a classic character. By extracting Walkens creepiness from the equation, you get a story that hits much closer to home. The supporting cast, even the bad religious guy, play it so down to earth, that you almost forget that some fantaastical shit is going on.

And the deaths. Yes everyone, there is plenty of disturbing grisly murdering going on. A handful of people you will hate, circumstances that will make you feel stuff--kind of like ER only not written for junior high kids who love gossip, and a fair amount of suspence.
And lucky for us, AMH has indeed grown into a fine looking man.

So I will continue to check out Dead Zone, and I suggest you do to. It's on many times a week, so check your local listings. And do it now, Now, NOW!!!

I LOVE the Dead Zone! It was one of my favorite films as a child!

Anthony Michael Hall is cool as hell. I really think his career is going to take off again.

Do you consider Mare Winningham a brat packer? I mean- she was in St. Elmo's Fire... doesn't that automatically qualify her? I used to date her son Riley- I'm still good friends with him... but I like to think in my head that I've dated the son of a brat packer... because that's just neat to think!

So by your logic, Paul Gleason, the principal in "The Breakfast Club," is a brat packer too, just because he's in this movie?

I don't want to discuss this with the likes of you again Uterdic. I think we've been through this.... can't you just give me this one little TINY thing? This one little TINY grain of being somewhat cool?

Actually, you should consider yourself cool regardless of the status of whom you date.

I've never dated a famous person, and I happen to be pretty damn cool.

but can you imagine how much those cool points would soar if you were dating Vince Vaughn?.... mmm break me off a piece of that!

I don't REALLY measure how cool I am by who I've dated... there are plenty of reasons why I'm cool even if I didn't date the son of a brat packer- for sure.

I think maybe even my cool points went down by dating Riley... he's such a loser! WOW!! I mean he lives in his mother's garage! That's why it only lasted like a month! HA! He was only like 20 too- I was 24! I had this thing with corrupting the young boys for a while... Mrs. Robinson if you will...

Whoa, that reminds me of a great story that is way too filthy for LJ.

Maybe I'll tell it to ya sometime.

And yeah, if he'd promise not to take me to anyplace that plays country music, I would be so into that Vince Vaughn. I love when he plays a homicidal maniac. Clay Pigeons rules, as does Psycho '98. Well, maybe not all of P'98, but he is fanTAStic.

Maybe not today

Maybe not tomorrow

But some day, my dear...

Did you guys know that Mariska Hargitay (she is the femal cop on L&O SVU) is the daughter of Jayne Mansfield?

Isn't that wild?
