7 days until my birthday party!!

Ryan and I went out for a nice dinner at an old tyme steak house with K and N. I learned that filet mignon is extremely delicious, and that sharing dessert with someones husband is only okay if they are sitting right there. Plus, I may have set a record for offending a single stranger the most times during one meal. So that was delightful.

Our cable is still out. Drag.

If all goes according to plan, I'll see The Incredibles tomorrow at long last. H doesn't like Pixar films. At all. So i had to find someone else to go with. Since Mr. "I like my new girlfriend better than you" still hasn't taken me. If he's not careful, I'm going to become catty and passive/aggressive.
Speaking of films...yes, films, the pics of Johnny Depp from Willy Wonka are gayer than the gayest thing I can think of.
I mean like, if Orlando Bloom and Nathan Lane had a baby, that baby would be slightly less gay than these pics.

I finally heard the Weird Al album Poodle Hat and damn, he is the King of Musical Funny! I love Al. Back in the day, I had all of his albums, well, I had cassettes actually, but they ruled. Right up until the Nirvana one, I had them all. And no one really credits him for having such a long and successful career. His comdy is pitch perfect, and I adore him. So there.

I got some early birthday loot tonight. Among other things i sorely needed, Nate and Kim got me the thing i blatantly asked for in this entry. It is really cute and linked to my medical bracelet. I'm going to think of a name for him. Want to know why I wanted it? Ask these jokers who made me love bears.

Damn, I'm tired, think I'll go to bed.
And tomorrow I'm going to write 2 chapters, since i'm not having people over.
I will be having a big ass party on the 27th though. Clear you calandars people!

oh man! i'm finally catching up on all the past friends page stuff and there's my hideous drunk comment. aaaaaaaaahahahaha, man, i'm sorry. :)

also, as perhaps goes without saying, iawtp regarding weird al.

[identity profile] anathon.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 06:17 am (UTC)(link)
I saw a weird al video yesterday on VH1 classics and commented on his comedic genius. Actually, the fact that his band has good musicians and he is actually a decent song writer also. He just chose to use his musical abilities for comedy. That is admirable to me. Some bands are very serious about the music they make and it pales in comparison to weird al's music.

I think Coolio is a great example of what you're talking about. Remember when Al did Amish Paradise and Coolio was all ofended and said he never gave permission for the cover.

Al apologized and reiterated many times they his people told him they had permission. Coolio was still a big jerk about it. But Al did mention that Coolio was not so offended as to not cash the cheque they sent...

and where the heck is Coolio now?

Ooo! I wanna know what you did to offend :D I like offending general public stories!
Last night, Mercy20, Michelle and myself went to see Nation Treasure (Tomb Raider for girls) .. Michelle had to go to the bathroom, which meant she had to squeeze past these 3 guys. She STOMPED on the poor guys foot.. then when she turns to say sorry.. she fell on him. Was most amusing. Not offensive.. but amusing.

And yes.. The Johnny Depp thing is flaming gay! I got a major laugh out of the Orlando Bloom thing..

Well, I bashed God not knowing he was some kind of uber Xtian. We were talking about unbeleivable things you hear on TV and i was all "one time, they were saying there was a guy up in they sky who made everything, and he loves us but will send us to hell if we cross him...you know, so you know THAT's not beleiveable". And the guy makes this terrible face and his gal was all..."So...how bout those lions?"

Even though I stifled my next 10 comments, I think I still offended him a few more times.

Nice...

I have decided to name him "Phineas".

[identity profile] lostsatellite.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 10:24 am (UTC)(link)
just so you know, the Weird Al link was a duplicate of the Willy Wonka link...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 01:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn.

Thanks!

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-23 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, if you're interested I finally got around to fixing that.

[identity profile] lostsatellite.livejournal.com 2004-11-23 04:38 am (UTC)(link)
cool, I might as well :)

I don't always follow links, but I followed the Willy Wonka one...and then found it odd when it looked as though I followed the Weird Al link before I ever clicked on it...hence the discovery...

I have fond memories of watching Weird Al videos...there was some show on MTV where you could choose between videos or something, and I remember making the fifty cent call for "Fat"...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-23 04:47 am (UTC)(link)
I remember that. It was on Friday night or something.

Al is great because every time you think he's retired, he busts out with something great.

[identity profile] lostsatellite.livejournal.com 2004-11-23 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
hmm...now I have the idea of getting my brother the video collection for his upcoming birthday...

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-23 07:01 am (UTC)(link)
Oooh, good call!

[identity profile] haroeris-astrum.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah but a poodle hat?

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 07:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Not a literal Poodle Hat, it's an archetype of the Poodle Hat in all of us.

[identity profile] haroeris-astrum.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 10:09 pm (UTC)(link)
But what if Ling Ling have no head then Ling Ling need no hat: http://www.lmnop.com/poster1.GIF

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Okay, THAT was disturbing.

[identity profile] haroeris-astrum.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 11:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I think that's what we did last year.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-11-20 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, we like the "stun gun" over the lasso. It's more traditional in our family...

Unsure if a traumatised bird would produce the same effect
