Perspective

As you all know, my journal contains a fair amount of information on things that piss me off, aggravate, shock or disturb me. There is not that much information on things that delight or amuse me, or things I am pleased about. So, here is a whole post of things I like, or things that are good in life.

In the months since losing my job I have:
--Learned to bake yeast bread.
--Organized much of my apartment.
--Wrote a short screenplay which I later decided would only be the first half.
--Made contact with my biological father.
--Watched some fab movies.
--Started doing volunteer work for the first time since 1998.
--Learned to work the digital camera
--Gained a working knowlege of MS Office
--Read at least one new book a month.

If all goes according to plan I will also:
--Learn to crochet.
--Win NaNoWriMo
--Re enter my yoga routine, as soon as my knee is better.
--Finish screenplay.
--Send Walt a disc of radio stuff of mine.

I am also pleased just to have such a great support structure in place these days. I take a lot of pride in my interpersonal relationships since I really only bother spending time with exceptional people. If people aren't interesting, intelligent, or supremely good hearted, I really can't be bothered. Happily, there are plenty of people whom I respect, admire and adore who also seem to think I'm okay too. This may seem like little to some of you, but for an awkward fat girl who thought she'd never feel good about herself, it is pretty fucking amazing.

My cats, they are awesome. Clever and cute, affectionate and demanding, rambunctious and sweet.
I only wish I could convince them not to make hair balls on the carpet...

Some other things right in the world include:

--Wasabi Peas
--Shaun of the Dead
--The resurrgence of the zombie genre in general
--George Forman Grille
--Smallville
--H
--Ryan's almost superhuman ability to tolerate me and my moods.
--Minute Maid Cherry Limeade
--Colorful Lj Quizzes
--Cold weather
--Mac OS 10 (not exactly new, but fucking sweet)
--Dave Chapelle being rich and famous.
--Sweetgrass
--Reece's Pieces

So when someone tells you that life sucks and there's nothing to live for, please point them to this list.

Smallville should definitely be before the George Forman grill. I wonder if I could get 10,000 people to join my new Smallville cult cult so I can misappropriate money from them lead them to the light that is Tom Welling.

Ah...but the George Forman Grille was a gift from H. Since you're new around here, you don't know my hunky BF, H:

Here we see H, putting the smackdown on [livejournal.com profile] psychwitch. Take THAT, Eveil Dead fan!

when are you going to learn to crochet? I am thinking about picking it back up. Winter's coming and I need some cute scarves. Plus that poncho thing is coming back...

I'm doing nano, too.

Good luck with the NaNo!

I tried to start crocheting last week. it seems that I'm not very good at it yet, but I have manged to figure out the chain stitch. [profile] nate101000 is going to help me, since he's pretty good at it, and [profile] fyreangel is sending me some hooks. So hopefully I'll be able to crochet some Yule gifts this year since I still don't have a damn job.

I didn't know you liked Reeses Pieces. ET likes them too.
