Productivity:
Let's see, went to the bank and to buy lunch for H and I. That was boring, but it had to be done. I think before I go to the movies, I'm going to throw together some cran/apple bread since there are people coming over tonight.
In fact, anyone who wants to bring over blankets or other stuff for the shelter can feel free to stop on by tonight after 9pm.
And of course...anyone else who just wants to come see us.
Happily, I'm going to see Team America which (suprisngly enough) is playing at the Village Bwood 7. That means I only have to pay $5.50 to see it, which is good. Sadly, H doesn't want to go...something about not liking marionettes. The next movie I will want to see will probably be Saw, as that thing looks creepy as hell. Anyway I'm seeing Team America with R and probably K and N. I like how Trey and Matt don't seem to ever want to do a movie that looks slick and professional...everything looks like it's somebodys project for a senior level film class.

Which File Extension are You?
And in the "I'm so glad this finally happened" file: here is an amusing article about Jon Stewart's appearance on Crossfire . If you can get near the transcript, do read it, as it is just beautiful! I wanted to weep with laughter and joy at hearing Jon call Carlson a dick...and not just for the bow tie!
I have some great ideas for the Pt 2 of the screenplay. It's odd, some people seem to pound out screenplays in no time at all, whereas this one has taken me since July, and I still have a ways to go. Not that I'm comparing, but I feel like I'm doing this at a snails pace. At the same time, it just might be that I'll write a screenplay AND a novel (if I win NaNoWriMo) in the 6 months I've been out of work. That would be very nice indeed...
PREGNANT DAUGHTER GETS BOOTED BY JEALOUS MOTHER:
DEAR ABBY: I am a mother of two. I recently learned that my 16-year-old daughter, "Rene," is pregnant. When she told me who the father is, I discovered she had been having an affair with my live-in boyfriend, "Leo." It was devastating. I am engaged to marry Leo, and I still love him.
I made Rene move out. I know this seems harsh because she is pregnant, but I feel I can have a good relationship with Leo only if Rene is not around. I don't mean to choose him over her, but Rene is my daughter, and she should have known better.
What do you think I should do? I don't want to disown her. Also, I want to raise Rene's baby as my own, and this infuriates her. Who is wrong? Please give me your insight. -- CONFUSED IN CANADA
DEAR CONFUSED: Please reorganize your priorities. Your duty is to protect your children. Leo is an adult. Your daughter is only 16. Leo has far more experience. Your fiance is a predator who may have pursued you in order to get close to your daughter. You say you have two children. Is the other child a daughter too?
It's time to show your fiance the door and call the police. Rene should stay with you until she's able to complete her education and care for herself and her baby. And Leo should help to financially support the child until it is an adult.
Can you imagine a mother like that? She should have known better...

This woman - her mind is SO FUCKIN SCREWED that she'd put an abuser ahead of her daughter. Here's what I think happened: Man goes with Mommy to get with daughter. Man twists daughter's adolescent mind, using her wavering self-image as leverage, making her feel wanted and pretty and powerful. If relationship with Mommy is rocky, he uses that as leverage too. Man rapes girl repeatedly, makes her think she consented and gets her pregnant. Man makes girl tell Mommy she's ben having an affair. To add insult to injury Mommy kicks girl out and wants to take the baby - the only good thing to come of this. Baby not even born yet is now given the responsibility to make grandma and Daddy happy and is also given the responsibility to be used as a pawn against his/her birth mommy. Girl has a constant, nine month reminder of being raped AND no support. Yes, 'grandma' should be hit in the face with a shovel - hard.
