wednes | Bush claims economy is on upswing, many new jobs created...anyone know where these jobs might be???

Here is a picture of my fella, H in his mad, power hungry race to the White House. He did not fight in 'nam, nor has he ever inhaled. And while his co workers all have nice things to say about him, none of them are here right now.

I had a very terrible day today. Finally got ahold of MARVIN after 3 hours of our phones not being able to get a signal. With everyone using cell phones, it would be really easy to disrupt the whole country by simply making our cell phones not work. Also got ahold of my doc, who can't see me until the 25th of October. I hate going there, so in a way that's good. But I need med refills, and won't be able to get them and it's just a hug pain in my ass to have to wait that long. Plus who knows...I might be working by then.

Speaking of which, it turns out that the starting pay at The Village Theatre is $6 an hour. That is a cut of almost $2 an hour from Madstone, which was still insultingly low. Honestly, I made more than that working for fucking McDonalds! And I'd have to be on my feet for the whole damn shift, AND I'd have to deal with mainstream theatre customers instead of people with taste. Anyone who's ever worked for Blockbuster can tell you that there is a direct corrolation between manners and taste. People dont' fly into a rage because Russian Ark is checked out...but try to deny someone the latest Martin Lawrence movie and you're called everything from rascist to a bunch of distasteful swears.

On the one hand, I really need to get back to work. OTOH, $6 an hour is a slap in the face and not enough to live on. Sweeping up after overprivileged kids is actually hard work, and not the kind I can take pride in...just suck ass grunt work that a fucking chimpanzee could do. Plus I really dont' see how they are going to make it there...the theatre I mean. I certainly dont' want to be looking for another job in 9 months to a year. I really loved working for Madstone...but it was the people I loved...the staff and the members. None of those people are around now, nor will they be. So do I want to work 40 hours a week for less than $200 ? Or do I want to risk not getting a job now and ending up with no job AND no unemployment in December? As it stands, I'm not going to be able to do anything for H's 30th birthday, which is horrible considering how much he does for me.

So now, even though I feel like sobbing in the dark for 8 or so hours...I have to go to the shelter to listen to people snore until 5am. Then I get to nap, and decide just how low I can sink until I actually want to just wander out into traffic.

I remember working at Country Boy in Hazel Park for 3 bucks an hour or so. It was the hardest work I have EVER done, and my first check was so depressingly small that I quit soon after that. The Village doesn't sound much better.

But OMG...you worked at Country Boy??? That's hilarious, as my family used to go there for dinner all the freakin' time.

Oh yeah, Gary worked there before me. He's the one that helped me get the job. But he quit just before I did. We BUSTED our asses. The guy was so cheap that he wouldn't get the little squeezy-handle fixed so the water ran all the time on the dishwasher. You had to physically cut off the water to make it stop. It was HOT water too. We did some crazy stuff when we worked together. I should talk to him about it and see if I can't come up with a pretty decent post about it. The owner was just plain scary.

When is H's birthday? Maybe we, and others could help you out. Maybe you should give him love coupons. It would be rude of him not to accept. ;-)

If you get a job a the Village I'll try to promote the theater, and often come see movies and say Hi to you. I'll try to write letters about how cool you are to the management so they will hopefully give you a raise. I miss Madstone, especially the silly quotes on the bathroom mirror. Jobs that go out of business are sad to say goodbye to.. I hope it all works out. Good Luck Wednes.

Thanks man, I must say thought that it is unlikely that I will work for such appallingly low pay. I mean, Mcdonalds pays more than that...a LOT more.

It's a damn shame you don't drive. Pure Romance, the sex toy party people, are always looking for reps to do parties, and since you are not shy at all, and you are a good people person, you'd be a perfect sales rep for them. At the last sex toy party I attended, the rep made over $1000.00 in sales and got a commission of $600.00 for one night of work (less than 4 hours actually). That seems perfect for you.

Damn...that would be cool. But don't you need to have a lot of freidns to make that work? someone tried to get me to sell Avon once, and it basically involved bugging all yoru freinds and neighbors to buy stuff.
