Utter lack of will power:

I know I just went to the video store, but I found out that Hollywood video was having a 3/$25 sale on used DVd's, so i had to avail myself of it. Ryan went too, which was cool for him since he got Bubba Ho Tep (which means I can see it for free). Myself, I got Monster, Secret Window which I still haven't seen, 13 moons, and a DVD version of Night of the Living Dead, in color.

Yeah, that's right punks, it's a colorized version...because you can never really have too many versions of Night of the Living Dead . This makes 4 versions for me in my current collection, bearing in mind that I gave away my old VHS copy a long time ago...and of course not counting Tom Savini's swell remake. Normally, I'm not a great fan of film coloring. That TV version of Miracle on 34th Street is laughable. But oh well...I wanted it, and it was only $10 new so I bought it, despite my current financial situation.

This all happened after H took me out to dinner. I have a terrible toothache in my broken back tooth. I really need to go to the dentist, but I can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars for some wackjob to crack my jaw open. The very thought of it is pretty horrifying to me. Almost as horrifying was being at Outback Steakhouse with a toothache. Lucky for me, those steakburgers melt in one's mouth like...buttah. And unlike at home, I get to have it nice and raaaaaare! H hates rare meat. But he doesn't hate buying me desserts, which is why I have a chocolate thunder from down under in my fridge as we speak. I should mention, he took me to dinner so I'd be less mad he didn't feel like going to see Hero. Ryan and I will have to go another day, though who knows when I'll be able to afford it, or have a night free this week.

It is a terrible crime that this quiz result does not have pics:

COWABUNGA, DUDE! Please accept my apologies for a
Simpsons master like yourself, that trivia was
cake! (Mmmm, cake.) Chances are you never miss
a show (including the late night reruns) and
even know obscure details like the name of
Lisas fave teen magazine (Non-Threatening
Boys). In fact you could possibly name every
guest voice since the first season. Celebrate
your genius Homer style: have a doughnut or
twelve.

The test doesn't ask obscure trivia at all! Well actually some of them are semi-obscure, but the possible options make it very clear which is the correct answer.

Well yeah. But you know, I happen to be the Ken jennings of Simpsons trivia.

Truly I jest, though they were easier than I thought they'd be.

secret window is great and not just cause it has Johnny Depp in it!

I hate the dentist..and I too need to go, i just always end up with more problems when I leave cause they are always finding stuff wrong with my teeth that I didnt even know about.

On the food network they say if you don't like rare red meat, you probably just don't like red meat.

Obviously, H disagrees.

I like red meat..just not bloody red meat.

Haha.. That made me smile. Smart man. As for Hero, its really a great movie. Hopefully you will both get a chance to see it, I HIGHLY recommend it. Especially if you enjoyed Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. If you didn't like that movie, then no so much..

I did like CtHd very much. I was amazed at blockbuster how many people wouldn't rent the VHS because of subtitles. People like that piss me off.

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2004-09-21 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
When I bought the tickets, the guy asked me "It has subtitles, is that okay?". I thought he was joking when he asked me. Of course it has subtitles! I wanted to say. But instead I asked him how many people it had turned away "A few" he said. Amazing.

I got totally passive agressive with people about that. Like, "well you know, most martial arts films ar enot made in America" and they look at me like I'm the one with issues.

Needless to say, retail work doesn't always suit me. I have a great loathing for extreme ignorance.

Easiest Quiz Ever!!
