Okay, by now everyone knows that I've been watching Ken Jennings run on Jeopardy! with great interest and enthusiasm. What can I say? I'm still out of work, and it pleases me to see a regular guy with tons of random knowledge using it to make a whole shitload of money. And now that there's this rumor going around that he eventually loses and when and how much...everyone and thier drunken uncle is trying to tell me about it. Cut it out, you dinks!

How would you like it if I told you that Annakin Skywalker eventually became (get this) Darth Vader in the next Star Wars movie?

Maybe I could go on to explain that if you keep watching Smallville long enough, not only will Jonathan Kent die--but Clark Kent actually becomes Superman! And if that isnt' enough spoilerization for you...I'll throw in the fact that I heard that Clark and Lex Luthor may not always remain the best of pals like they are on the show.

I'm so mad, I'm even going to reveal the prophesy that either Harry Potter or Lord Voldemort ("t" pronounciation is optional here) will die by the end of the 7th book. I know, I couldn't beleive it either.

I hope by now, you have all realized the folly of spoilering stuff I enjoy.
I mean, I knew by the laws of time and logic that KenJen would lose eventually--but why not let it unfold as the producer intend?

It's just more fun that way.

I actually have one friend who is relatively nerdy and educated and of the appropriate age, and she didn't know that Anakin = Darth, nor that Palpatine = The Emperor = Sidious. *blink*

Then again, I have a friend who has never seen any of the SW movies except A New Hope, and she fell asleep at the end of it. She is a bit young to have seen it the first time through in the theatre, but GOOD GOD, have ya heard of VCR's? ;-)

Well, Jonathan Kent's impending demise would depend on which Superman continuity Smallville is following. Pre-crisis, both Ma and Pa Kent die before Clark reaches adulthood. In the 70s/80s movie series Pa dies first while Ma lives longer. Post-crisis, both Ma and Pa Kent are still alive today (well, Pa died briefly a few years ago, but then came right back). Anyway, Smallville doesn't seem to be following any of these continuities precisely, so I'd say anything could happen as far as Jonathan Kent's mortality is concerned.

I will now lower my nerd dial back from extreme to moderate.

I've been discussing this with Kim.

We are expecting the following events.

1) Clark will suffer a huge monumental loss creating the Superman personality. It is usually the loss of Johnathan, but the show could go with Lana, or Martha.

2) Lionel will die, and Lex will blame either Clark, or Superman, or both(if he knows they are the same).

3) Cloe probably isn't dead.

4) One more big thing with Token before he is out of the show.

Of course after seeing Kill Bill V2, I'm looking at Superman a little differently.

I'm personally of the opinion that anyone who spoils a film/book etc should have their fucking arms cut off at the elbow and then be covered itching powder.

Someone did just that by telling me the end of Sixth Sense before it came out.
