Well Hell!

Went to my interview at Q16. The cab cost more than usual since there was construction and it was afternoon. I called to reschedule my FYE interview, since I wanted to save on cab fare,a nd was damn sure i could convince the guys at Q16 that i was well worth hiring, even without my own car. So there's $30 I'll never see again.

The interview went well, they liked me very much. But...
they are looking for soemone they can send to Jackson or Novi on occasion, which would not be me, as a cab out there would be plain silly. I did tell them I could relocate in a year, so we shall see how it goes.
But since there is a 75% chance that I will NOT be offered this job, I have to spend on cabs to FYE anyway...

Also, I am dreadfully short on cash this week. So after I pay for cabs and a box of Nag Champa, I will be totally broke until next week when my next cheque comes. That is a huge suck, since I was already AT the freaking Q16 and coudn't afford a damn movie ticket. Plsu i'm craving salad, and can't afford that either.

Of course I do have some um..."pizza" that I need to get rid of. If you need any "pizza" feel encouraged to give me a call.

Hey, Wednesday, I have a car & can maybe give you a ride to an interview if I can work it around my work & a coupla other time-tied plans. Is the FYE in the mall, or somewhere else?

I'm pretty peeved at the Q16 people. They shouldn't require that an employee have a car merely for the "occasional" need to send her a town or two over. That's stupid. It's not like you'd need to drive as a part of your everyday work.

Their loss, really. An idiotic expectation is going to cost them a devoted employee they don't deserve.

I would tend to agree. I told them I have medical reasons I don't drive, I would think it would then be illegal to deny me a job I *can* do. But realistically they can use any number of excuses not to hire a person.
It's just that I know I would kick ass at that job. I still could get it, but it doesn't look very likely. The guy seemed to think not having a car was my only drawback.

Well it can't hurt to follow up with a phone call reiterating your interest & asserting that you know you'd be such an excellent employee he wouldn't regret it. I was surprised once I became a supervisor type and started being in on people being hired how much of a difference those follow-up calls and e-mails can actually make.

Anyway, keep me in mind as a possible ride for ya in this job-hunting process.

I appreciate that.

Thanks!

Oh, man---that Mormon guy is after you! Watch out!!

Seriously, you are most welcome to Lisa's piddly taxi service. I'm still confounded that I haven't gotten around to hangin' out with you, so that could be an excuse. The rest of my summer, though I have 3 sets of house guests to come, is going to be less crazy than I thought, cuz this freelance proofreading gig that would've added 30 hours/week to my 40+ hr/week schedule has been AT LEAST delayed until Sept., if not cancelled entirely. It's a relief, but I sure coulda used the $.

Not that I have to tell you about that! Of course if you get together with Jeopardy! Man, your financial needs could be taken care of. And maybe he'd have several wives, so you'd hardly ever have to see him, even! You and H. could carry on pretty much as usual.

Ha. That would be hilarious.

I think you have to *be* a mormon to marry another mormon though...I'll hve to watch Orgazmo again and see if they mention that...

As K seems to have finagled herself a vehicle, I volunteer her to give you a ride to interviews. Especially since I will be paying for the car, and gas and such.

I will be picking up my own pizza tomorrow, but if you want me to take some pizza off you hands I suppose I could.

Meh, I think it'll be okay.

I have enough money unless I get called to an interview and have no ride. But H will surely loan me money for that.
