Aparently you can kill wolf spiders with hairspray.

Not much going on with me today. Slept late, had weird dreams last night that I was back working as a Planned Parenthood escort...except that the crazy pro-life people (I'm not calling all pro-life people crazy, just the ones that hang around clinics screaming at girls trying to get pelvic exams or writing down liscense plate numbers so they can send partial birth abortion pics to people at home *shudder*) were people that I knew in real life.

Disturbing.

Then later I had another dream about spiders coming down from the ceiling...then finally, zombies.

I got asked to interview at the Ann Arbor Animal clinic in W Liberty. So I'm going there on Monday. It doesn't pay that much, but more than the 'Stone and will give me full time hours. So that would be cool by me.
I also ate my yummy salad for lunch and now I am really, really full. I also changed the catbox.

Going to work on the script later and maybe watch Triplets of Belleville. At 10pm, they are showing Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead on cable. This version is from 1990 and stars Gary Oldman and Tim Roth (AKA Sirius Black and General Thade hahahaha!) so it should be damn good.

what's this movie gonna be about?

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
It's the play "Hamlet," through Rosencrantz and Guildenstern's eyes. They were Hamlet's best friends who took him to to England to be killed, by order of the king. They are literatures first Bill and Ted. It's hilarious. It won the Cannes film festival in 1990, and it's one of my favorite movies.

Actually, I think he meant MY movie...

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 01:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh sure, that would make way more sense. I was so excited about R&G, that I wasn't thinking.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 01:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I talked about it here:

http://www.livejournal.com/users/wednes/298518.html?mode=reply

I'll be sharing more as the script gets written and reweritten.

[identity profile] emperorsamir.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 02:41 pm (UTC)(link)
oh ok, yeah i was out of twon when this was written, thats probably why i dont remember it. sounds interesting. let me know if you need any help or anything with the actual movie.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 03:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you act?

I will have several male parts to fill, most are pretty small but I do have one lead role open.

We won't be shooting for awhile...I have no idea how long it will take me to get to that point. But I will be keeping everyone posted.

[identity profile] emperorsamir.livejournal.com 2004-08-06 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
i dont act, but i guess if it's a small role i could manage. i can help with the filmmaking part like lighting and all that.

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 01:10 pm (UTC)(link)
I have Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead on VHS.

[identity profile] uterdic.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Damn, no I don't. Janine still has it.

[identity profile] cepheidus.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Honest, I don't! uh, I don't think. If I do, I'll certainly give it back. I've got a DVD of R&G now . . . though it's tempting to keep your recorded copy just for the rockin' amateur band that precedes the movie.

You can kill anything with hairspray; you just need a lot of it.

[identity profile] skryche.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Aw, I always liked that movie. I saw it in HS before I ever saw Hamlet, so it was a little hard to follow. Then I read Hamlet and watched it again, and thought it was AMAZING.

My woman is getting trained at PP. She thinks it's great and might do some work there.

I'm very familiar with the "spiders coming down from the ceiling" dream.

Some pro-lifers... we have a "family planning" here in town (the closest place one can get an abortion is Dayton, about 1.5 hour drive from here). Actually, they won't even sell the 'morning after' pill here. *shakes head* (Can you tell I really, really, really want to move?). Most of the strict pro-lifers I know are here in town. Most are really very sweet people who volunteer for children's rights and protective stuff (reading programs, bettering the school systems, protection for children of criminals...) but some are really, really, really mean to pro-chiocers. Err

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
There is a "family planning" place by where my doctor is. I used to work with a girl who went there and they gave her a bunch of those pamphlets with pictures of cut up 3rd trimester fetuses in them. She was pretty horrified as she thought she was going to an actual clinic.

Could you imagine if they showed all patients gross stuff like that? "Well, you have a disease that might kill you...so we think its important to show what an autopsy looks like. Please take these full color pictures home."

OR

"Oh, you've started smoking? Here, let me mail pictures of black lungs to your house everyday and put a sign on your car warning your neighbors that you're killing them with second hand smoke."

Jackasses!

"Oh, you've started smoking? Here, let me mail pictures of black lungs to your house everyday and put a sign on your car warning your neighbors that you're killing them with second hand smoke."

With the way things are going in California that might just happen.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-07-02 11:52 am (UTC)(link)
yick!

[identity profile] ex-jenniepan481.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] ex-jenniepan481.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] lachupacabra.livejournal.com 2004-07-01 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-07-02 11:48 am (UTC)(link)
I do have a res at Michworks, and have talked to some employers as a result. I think i have a pretty good handle on things, despite how shitty the job market is right now.

Thank you.

My email addy is on my userinfo page.

[identity profile] lachupacabra.livejournal.com 2004-07-02 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
i actually meant mailing addy
:)

& youre right, the job market couldnt be
shittier. after losing a really fucking great
job id been @ for 7 yrs in 2001, ive been
bouncing around from crappy temp job
to crappier temp job. all i want is a good,
(direct hire) position that pays me enough
to pay my rent & not have to decide between
having electricity & eating ... im not even
dreaming enough to imagine getting
benefits anymore.
;(

thats not to say all temp jobs are awful:
my gf nikole got one thru one of the same
agencies i used to be with (snelling), got
hired in after 30 days & is still there 3
yrs later & loves it.
:)
