Just Jump Already...

Well well, another Monday is upon us...

Watched the new Dead Zone last night despite the fact that it contained Richard Lewis. It turned out to be a very moving episode in while JJ found out that Johnny was his biological father. And man--does it ever suck to be Walt. Which sucks in and of itself, because Walt is a good man. But ya gotta love that Johnny Smith. And you also gotta love Anthony Michael Hall, because after all, it feel like you've known him your whole life.

Have to go to the doc today and get the results from the blood tests I took a few weeks ago. I'm slightly unnerved that they won't just tell me what's up over the phone, but maybe they have rules about that now, I don't know.

I'm also applying for some jobs in person. They are looking for a midnight person at Candlewood Suites which is like, a block away from me. And Cranbrook Tower is look for a receptionist, which is right across the street and down a few blocks. So either of those gigs would be cool to have, if I don't hear back from DOC.

I feel like renting some movies, but I'm so out of the loop I don't even know what's good that's coming out. I'd like to see Monster again, as that was really creepy and good. I also have not seen Triplets of Bellville. What else have you guys seen on DVD that's good lately?

Don't worry too much. My doc will never give me even my cholesterol level over the phone, even when it's good news. I think there are some kinda rules involved. Stupid rules.

doctors arent allowed to tell you good or bad stuff over the phone...why? dont know.

Good luck with the jobs..we get paid on thurday and then I can send you lemon curd..sorry it has taken me so long!

No apology needed...and that would be sweet!

(ha ha...I guess since it's Meyer lemon curd, it will indeed be "sweet".)

I liked "Cheaper by The Dozen." It was cute.

Yeah! It was :) I was made to watch it because Hilary Duff was in it.. and the one boy was "hot".

Hillary Duff is hot...or will be upon reaching the age of 21.

The rules for giving info out over the phone depend on your doctor. Kim's doctor once made her go in and get the following results... "Everything is fine, I'm keeping you at the same level on your meds." It cost us a $25 copay for the doctor visit. When I called to get an explanation the doctor told me that as a rule they don't practice medicine over the phone. I was quite livid that he considered a 2 minute meeting 'practicing' medicine. I told him that practicing medicine meant examining someone to find out what was wrong, not handing out test results from a previous visit. He got the point, the next time Kim needed her prescription filled he let us pick up the prescription w/o a visit. Since then we changed doctor.

In short, your doctor could give you your results over the phone, he/she is CHOOSING not to.

Last night we rented Matchstick Men, Haunted Mansion, Mystic River, and Peter Pan. Matchstick Men was pretty good, Nick Cage played it well, and everybody else was convincing. Haunted Mansion was cute, and funny. Eddie Murphy pulled off the character that was written. We haven't watched the other two yet.

I didn't end up watching the Dead Zone. What was Richard Lewis' secret?

He has a kid die from falling out a window, and it turned him into a bitter, drunken crank.

First this dead zone talk was like greek. Like, if you were saying it to me it would sound like the adults from charlie brown.

Second, we saw mean girls last weekend and it rocked. Tina Fey should right more movies.

I've heard from many people that Mean Girls was damn good. I imagine Miss Fey will indeed write more movies, especially if she can get that Fallon kid to stop knocking her up!

Mean Girls was extremely good. Very funny.
