Michigan Panthers

I am happy to say that I have some good fiction ideas brewing. One of them seems like it would make a cool short film. However, I don't really know how to write well in screenplay format. I know there are some screenwriters out there who can suggest resourcres for me...please lend me your expertise.

I'm slowly starting to chip away at all the things i have to do. Tomorrow I can apply for unemployment over the phone. I consider that a pretty huge defeat, as I tried very hard to break myself of the habit of taking hand outs. Now I'm rather sensitive about it. In fact, I've been complaining and snapping at people all week long. And then I had a bunch of drinks over the weekend. That should not happen anymore methinks.

I'm also going to renew my drivers liscense tomorrow or Thursday, however it works out. I don't actually drive anywhere as i have no car and barely ever drive. Yet, it would be a huge pain to have to qualify for a liscense over again if I let this one not get renewed. It will be about $30 cheaper for me to get a simple state ID instead of the DL. So I'm beginning to wonder if it is even worth it.

Our air conditioner is still not working. It looks like I'm going to have to stay home and awake one day this week to wait for the maintenance man to fix it. It is over 80 degrees in here at 11pm. Yick!

Mine and H's anniversary was bland and boring. No hotel, no jacuzzi and nothing really fun. Well, we saw Harry Potter and had dinner. I guess I'm just not in a frame of mind to be enjoying much these days. Plus I'm hardly sleeping at all because it's so hot. I need to fix that pronto, lest I become unbearable to live with...

No good advice to give on the screenplay really other that, look at a real screenplay and copy the format (but not mine because I think I do things technically wrong sometimes).

it's software (it's for mac too!) that automatically formats what you're typing into script form. brilliant!
i can get you a copy if you'd like to try it. i've used it, it really helps you learn the formatting.

I use Final Draft, it's the best screenwriting program I've used...I can pirate a copy for you.

As for the unemployment, I'm the same way. I would only file for it if I was really actively looking for another job and only use it for a short period of time. However, I'm not eligible anyway b/c I am still a dependant. Point being, don't feel bad if you are using the system in the way it is intended to be used, which is for people who get screwed over by losing their job with no notice and need income while they find a new job, which is exactly what you are doing. :o)
