Suckier and suckier

Well, I finally got my final paycheck in the mail, and it is short one whole weekend. Not like there's anyone to complain to, as the entire company has shut down; and once again, it seems that I am just plain old fucked.

Went to see Harry Potter today with H. Now that the 'Stone is closed down, it costs over $10 each way to cab it to the nearest theatre to see a movie. Plus, I had many huge issues with the movie. Combined with how crappy my life is, I didn't really enjoy myself at all. That is quite sad thinking of how long I've been looking forward to it.

This week i have to go to Office Team to try and get some kind of crappy secretary job. Even that will be difficult since I only know how to do stuff on macs, and have no where near the correct wardrobe for fancy office work. i think I own 2 pr of nylons. Plus I can't file for unemployment until I have a valid drivers liscence and I can't afford to get to Secretary of State since the bus doesn't go there. Anyone with a free afternoon this week is welcome to drive me in exchange for a fab lunch cooked by me. Oh geez, I was also supposed to buy stamps today to mail out resumes and I havent' been able to find any. If you can beleive this, no one within walking distance of me sells freaking postage stamps.

Why does everything have to be so damn difficult?

Oh, and I spent all that money throwing a party for my co-workers and someone broke my garbage disposal without telling anyone. There was a big hunk of broken glass in it and I still dont' know how it got there or what it goes to. So whomever did that...thanks a whole fucking heap! But fret not, as our air conditioner doesn't work either, I'll have to call maintenance to get it fixed. Dont' ask me why someone near a land line couldn't call, I'll just use my daytime minutes. I can certainly afford to...

Oh man, I'm so sorry to hear that it seems to be raining shit for you lately. It's not fair.

Keep on keepin' on -- no sense in turning around now!

I think the current state of things put a damper on POA. See it again when things are on the up and up.

I imagine i will.

There were plenty of things to like about the film. Lupin was awesome, as was the new Dumbledore. But so much stuff I was really looking forward to seeing wasn't there.

I felt it should have been half an hour longer, and without that silly Knight Bus driving scene.

There's a good quote from a book called "Neverwhere" by Neil Gaiman, the author of "American Gods," that goes something like this (I paraphrase because I don't remember where in the book the quote was):

"Problems and difficulties are nasty little creatures because they wait until you least expect it and then gang up to attack you all at once."

Hope things get better for you soon!

Hey, I appreciate that.

I still haven't read American Gods. but since I'm irked with harry Potter, perhaps I will this week.

Over-all, I enjoyed the film. Shit, the AC and the fucking disposal. That blows shit. Dana knows how to fix a garbage disposal. I can ask her advice for you. Fixing my garbage disposal was one of the first things she ever did for me.

I could go on for hours on the things that I didn't like about PoA. Considering they didn't introduce any new characters, and ignored several that they did introduce in the first two movies. I can forgive them for making changes from the book to the movie. But there were way too many changes from CoS to PoA.

It was the Cliff Notes version of the movie. Everything was just glossed over.

I really wanted to see the magical creature shop, Hogsmeade, and a lot more of everyone. I could have used less of harry flying on Buckbeak and Knight Bus.

Also, the ending scene where Dumbledore and Harry talk and everything is explained is completely missing. You never find out who made the map, why Lupin knows how to work it, why harry's patronus is a stag, etc. Plus the whole business with the firebolt was changed and Ron and hermiones nearly constant arguing was barely mentioned.

And who was that kid hanging out with Draco malfoy and Crabbe? They only showed Goyle breifly.

The whole thing was a mess. Why the hell did they replace the director anyway?

My biggest peeve is that they changed the geographic layout and makeup of Hogwarts.

[identity profile] wednes.livejournal.com 2004-06-08 03:24 pm (UTC)(link)

I am sorry to hear about the bad news that is happening to you. I love you!!! You are a great person and I know you can do anything if you put your mind to it. It might be rough right now but that will all change and you will be happy again.

Hugs and kisses
